    Magic wand
  2. Not tired. Ok.
  3. CB Bucknor calling balls and strikes. Renteria should have saved up the ejection for tonight.
  4. Rays are tired from NY. They got the Red Sox on Monday. Lopez, Giolito and Cease combine for 20 innings. Sox win 2 of 3.
  5. Well, his legacy used to be helping get Tim Raines in the Hall of Fame.

    Wow, a 16 year old lefty with 43 k in 30 innings. Hope he’s a good one.
  7. The Rays playing a doubleheader and getting back home at 3am might be the Sox best chance for a win tomorrow night.?

Despaigne 7 shutout innings, no walks, mercy same thing for Tomshaw in AA
  9. Hahn is a good diplomat. He'll find a way to say "tough shit, Jose".
  10. Charlotte plays in Buffalo in a couple hours. I’m sure Robert will be in the lineup. We’ll see who is not- Adam Engel or Paulo Orlando.
  11. Tilson has to check the "I got it" box to return.
  12. Engel is probably the call.
  13. September 10-12, battle for the season series with the Royals. 8-8 if the Sox don't come back in the 9th.
  14. Nice play to get Jay
  15. Castillo better be gone in two weeks.
  16. Totally agree. The Sox got lucky in many ways to be 2 under .500 at the break. And it didn’t hurt that Giolito was “win day” for a couple months. That wasn’t going to be sustainable for an entire season. They’ve had some bright spots, but they don’t walk enough. They don’t hit enough homers, even if it seems better with a juiced ball. The defense sucks. The starting pitching sucks. The bullpen is average at best. The Sox will probably sniff 90 losses, and pick 7th in the draft next year. Hopefully the important players continue to improve and they can make smarter acquisitions than they did this past offseason. They desperately need better health next year, and it wouldn’t hurt if Giolito, Lopez, Cease, and Kopech can make 30+ starts and feel like all four are competent major league starters going into 2021 when they have to win a division.
  17. And then there will be 69 games left in the season.
  18. Damn, I was going to point out Goins didn’t homer in 41 games with the Royals last year, so naturally he would tonight. He did!

Unrelated to anything, Eddy Alvarez got hurt right away this season, but has been in AAA New Orleans for a month...hitting .350 with 15 XBH.
  20. Not sure if it’s a team record, but they lost the first 8 out of the break in 1956. They lost three games before the break too.
  21. Well I tried.
  22. 4-3 win tonight. Nova has a good game.
