QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 16, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) A couple of friends were telling me that Machado came out and said he wont be signing any mid season extensions if hes traded. I cant find any info on this. Has anyone else seen that? That should just be common sense.

Moore to Texas for prospects -
I’m not going to complain if they get him, but I’m rooting for ‘the field’ here. Too risky. Keep the prospects. Moncada and Jimenez are going to be our superstars anyway.
-
Anyone else hate the nickname Gio for Giolito? I can’t be the only one.
-
No go on Kopech should have been obvious, but don’t bail on Giolito either. Hope this is settled by early next week, one way or the other.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 01:55 PM) On MLB Network? Isn’t the bulk of the programming just repeats? I could definitely be wrong here but I heard him say something similar hours ago. They’re live 1-3, then coverage is done. He repeated what he said, but he said the Os front office is on their way back to present options to Angelos.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 01:44 PM) I believe that video with Rosenthal was also filmed earlier this morning, so it’s not exactly breaking news. In fact, he may just be reporting what Nightengale tweeted during the night. Rosenthal said it about 45 minutes ago and, if he’s just repeating Nightengale, he would have given him credit.
-
Rosenthal has a great reputation, but I’m not buying that the Orioles have their choice of Kopech or Giolito. Hard pass on a deal that involves either.
-
Might just be posturing. At this point, they really can’t comment. You know, tampering.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 09:49 AM) The only way this makes sense to me is if Hahn is trying to pass off some damaged goods. If it's Rodon and others considered a little less talented, it's a gamble for both teams. The Orioles need arms, but they know it's never a guarantee.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 09:38 AM) Daryl Van SchouwenVerified account @CST_soxvan 23s24 seconds ago More Hahn: "We are not looking to make any sort of move that’s aimed at simply jumping up and perhaps contending for a Wild Card or maybe even the division for one year. The focus remains on the long term. "Now, we may take some calculated risks along the way." Like it. Astros had a few things go wrong over the last five years and they’re the champs now with a fun team.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) Right but I was alluding to what ss2k5 said, the orioles have declined deals for healthy players that "failed their medicals", I just can't see them approving a player that is known injured. The difference is they already know what they’d be getting into and the risks. This is out in the open and part of the risk.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/941324786361397248 This has been the one guy that I think of when talking about how sox are out in front, and would be really silly because what are the odds the orioles take on an injured player? It would be a gamble for them, but it’s one year of Machado, not 3 or 4. The Sox have a nice wealth of arms, and shoulders are tricky. I said Rodon and Fulmer for Machado and a prospect. Maybe add Adams too, and make a deal. It’s a good gamble for both teams.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) f*** it Im going to bed.. Bob NightengaleVerified account @BNightengale 8s9 seconds ago More Dan Duquette says #Orioles will continue to have trade talks involving Machado to see if something makes sense Yeah, today is generally a travel day for everyone. Maybe Friday?

Rangers get Tocci for cash

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 08:35 AM) It was pure heaven when the MLB draft moved at this speed with the conference call then they went and f***ed it up. I don't mind the first night TV show. First round and sandwich picks, although it should be a little faster that night too. The rest of the draft should be knocked out fast like this on the second day. Three days is stupid.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 08:27 AM) I could see us trading Tocci plus something to the Giants for Burdi. Wait for it...
-
Tocci is the one and only pick in the Major League phase. Nobody from the Sox org was picked.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 08:18 AM) Wouldn't be surprised if they trade Tocci First thing I thought of too.
-
If they get him, they pretty much would have to move Anderson to CF, right?

Interesting last five hours while most slept. I highly doubt Giolito is one of the arms offered...or Lopez, Kopech, Hansen, and Dunning. Rodon and Fulmer for Machado and a lower level decent prospect (do they have those)?
