  1. First pitch a week from now. Quintana, right?
  2. Saladino was hit in the right wrist this morning. Sore, but should be ok.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 12:33 PM) MLB Network‏Verified account @MLBNetwork 2h2 hours ago With J.D. Martinez reportedly out 3-4 weeks, who will be the Tigers #OpeningDay RF? @jonmorosi joins #HighHeat at 12pE with the latest. Ryan Raburn is available
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) I think you've mentioned this minor trade a few times that would result in a shorter bench and deeper pen. What are you thinking exactly? Maybe Leury or Sanchez. Or even Davidson. Nothing major. But it could be Covey starts vs Minnesota, and then his arm magically hurts a little.
  5. That would seem to be the roster, but I think there's a chance they'll make a minor trade that ends up with 3 on the bench and 8 in the pen. The starters really aren't that stretched out, and let's face it, not that good (besides Q). Going to be a lot of faux pitching injuries this year with the 10-day DL.
  6. Looks like Shields will start Friday, and Holland and Gonzalez will both pitch Saturday.

  8. I hope Benetti is in and out after a few years. There, I said it.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 26, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) Shields is so bad. Still will never understand how they decided to make that trade Hopefully it will be known as the last stupid move of the Era that just ended.
  10. Nice relay. Jimmy Rollins, give it up man.
  11. RIP Todd Frohwirth When Chris Berman was a thing, his nickname was "Which arm does Todd Frohwirth".
  12. Walking boot for three more weeks.
  13. Also on MLB Network for the out-of-towners Sox https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/846019746130743296 Giants https://twitter.com/hankschulman/status/846019687863336960
  14. My prediction is the Sox will make a move that will end up with 8 in the pen.
  15. They used Burdi a lot this spring with some guys gone for the WBC. Seems to have caught up to him lately.
  16. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 02:19 PM) If in 2022 the Sox finish in 4th place in the Central and Moncada is a used car salesman in Miami and Giolito is doing commercials in LA, we will all be saying the Sale and Eaton trades were mistakes. If the Sox are hanging another World Series banner and Moncada is MVP and Giolito is a 20 game winner, we all will be saying the Sale and Eaton trades were divine inspirations. In my opinion, the full blown rebuild will never be the wrong decision even if all of these moves don't result in multiple playoff teams or hopefully a championship. It would probably result in front office changes, and the ownership may change by then. But this attempt at sustained success is the right thing to do no matter the end result.
  17. Rotation set: Quintana, Shields, Holland, Gonzalez, TBA
  18. Definitely see a lot of talent with Glasnow. The stuff and the knee buckler curve. Those long legged pitchers generally are hard to peg, but usually they have control problems.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Glasnow on MLB network Ha, just came here to comment. Impressive inning. That slow delivery is annoying, but outs are outs.
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 11:37 PM) Literally watching right now, about halfway through season 2. It's a little rough around the edges, but has been a very entertaining show for the most part. That's about where it fell apart. After Laura's killer is revealed, it just wasn't that good. I am looking forward to the reboot, but my expectations are low. Hope it's good.
  21. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 05:55 PM) Pirates fans have to be the most upset with all these rumors. They have the prospects, but have not been willing to do what it takes. Another mediocre season with no playoffs awaits The Pirates are a perfect example of why I wish baseball would get rid of divisions, and play a more balanced schedule. If they were just competing for one of the top 3 league records, it would make more sense for them to trade for Q. If they feel they can't beat the Cubs with or without Quintana, it's a lot harder to part with top prospects when you're only going to reach the coin flip game, at best.
