QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 05:24 PM) Thankfully Burdi isn't a starter, as he's Trachsel-esque Coop will put a stop to that.

Bye bye Burdi. Too easy?

Besides the spring training patch, I'd be all for this being the Sox alt uniform. Very sharp.

QUOTE (SouthWallace @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 05:07 PM) Burdi in for Q in the 8th. Q's final line: 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K. Only have to give up 3 runs for the no decision. It can be done.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 04:46 PM) Intriguing that they are playing Delmonico in LF Yeah, there could be quite a few minor trades in the next 7-10 days. Maybe Delmonico fits in by next weekend.

QUOTE (SouthWallace @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 04:42 PM) Delmonico rbi double! Gets to 3rd on the throw home. 3-0 Sox. Good chance he'll be one of the 48 guys that play for the Sox this year.

Updated teams interested in Q
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 10:10 AM) I'm sure there will be a lot of scouts in attendance for what is hopefully his last start in our uni. Might be the last game we can see him. The Sox play the Royals in five days, so he'll probably be pitching a B game that morning instead of facing a division team- a practice I think is pointless, but that's what they do.

Lopez/Giolito/Kopech/Moncada/Fulmer sent down
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 22, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) I would hope if that happens, that they would keep him in the minors for what, 2 weeks, so he can gain the extra year of control. True. He simply may be left in camp to get a long look, because Robertson could definitely be gone soon. The Charlotte Shuttle is going to be something this year.

Lopez/Giolito/Kopech/Moncada/Fulmer sent down
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2017 -> 12:20 PM) I find it very interesting that Burdi still hasn't been sent out, and that he wasn't sent out the day that the rest of the top group was sent out, including someone like Fulmer. I wonder if he has a shot? If Robertson gets traded next week, he could be the 8th inning guy.

Lopez/Giolito/Kopech/Moncada/Fulmer sent down
Covey is starting Saturday, so that's big for him.

Lopez/Giolito/Kopech/Moncada/Fulmer sent down
The 37 left include Tilson and Minaya, so there are ten cuts left barring something happening. Burdi Covey Purke Swarzak Smith, K Cabrera, E Delmonico Hayes Liriano May Davidson is going to make it. Hope something clicks with limited play.

World Baseball Classic
Jon Morosi is laughable how he acts like this tournament matters other than being a showcase for baseball. It's fun, but it doesn't prove any sort of baseball world dominance. That's what 162 and the postseason are for.

I hope Robertson strikes out Baez and Molina tomorrow night.

Predict the 2017 Opening Day Roster
The Dylan Covey experience may be ending. Just not enough quality innings this spring.

Nice deal. Glad to see a true drafted and developed position player get locked up.

Predict the 2017 Opening Day Roster
6 shutout innings for Lopez today, so he's stretched out if somebody gets hurt/traded. Kahnle terrible. Bye Felecia. Matt Davidson was terrible today too. If 8 in the pen/3 on the bench, they probably could get him through waivers, and if not, no big loss.

Tim Anderson signs 6 year extension
QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) I like Timmy Anderson, but anyone who says that they feel better about him than they did about Beckham after his rookie year is lying. I remember everyone on this board creaming in their jeans when Harold Reynolds listed him as a future HOF'er during Spring Training that next year. Can't argue with that. I was comparing Sox first round shortstops (infielders) with four months of major league time. Not debating the potential value of locking up a guy early. Anderson has some great tools and can do some things Beckham couldn't. But nobody would have blinked in 2010 if the Sox signed him to a team friendly deal.

Tim Anderson signs 6 year extension
They could have locked Beckham up after 14 homers and 28 doubles in four months too. Glad they didn't. I think Anderson is a good player though.
