Yeah the people who say a game is cancelled for the most part sound stupid.
It just bugs me when the Rongey types say "today's game is cancelled. It will be made up tomorrow". Um, no.
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 04:05 PM)
What's there to watch this year? It seems like the only story is if the Cubs will repeat. Maybe it's just because the White Sox are expected to stink, but it looks like it's going to be a boring year.
Bumgarner hasn't given up a hit yet. That could be good.
This whole week looks like crap. The entire Tigers series looks bad each day...except for Tuesday when they play the opener.
Hopefully they do the right thing and postpone early tomorrow morning before people would start making their way to the park.
QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 01:44 PM)
Are they still going to wear the early 80's clown clothes on Sundays, or has that gone away?
Definitely time to stop with that. I liked the spring training unis a lot. They should use that as the alternate.

Who said the if the game is rained out that it would not be made up ?
It's my preemptive strike against people that don't know the difference between a postponement and a cancellation.
Saladino, Anderson, Cabrera, Abreu, Frazier, Asche, Garcia, Narvaez, May
Go rebuild!
Postponed means the game will be made up. Cancelled means it won't. Don't ask if the game is cancelled, because it won't be.

That's a lot better. Now if they wouldn't wear the black jerseys every game
They cut way back on that last year, if I recall correctly...which was nice.
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 02:09 PM)
How early would fans be notified if it's rained out?
They'll definitely try to wait as long as possible, but if it looks like an all day soaker, which it's looking like, maybe by 11am. Just depends on the radar and how long they think it will last.
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 12:04 PM)
I know he's not making the opening day roster, but has Delmonico been sent down yet?
No. They technically have to do something with E Cabrera, Hayes, Delmonico, K Smith, and Burdi. And they have to place Rodon, Tilson, and Minaya on the DL.
I'll add that I'll root for the Sox to win until it's time to root for them to lose. There will be positives this season regardless of the daily wins and losses. As far as draft position, I can't see a scenario where the Sox are worse than the Padres, and probably the Reds.

Wait, I'm pretty sure his rehab assignment can be part of his dl stint.
Yeah, I guess that's true. That injury probably willl keep him away until June, and he's going to have to play his way to Chicago anyway, so they could 60-day DL him. We'll know soon.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 06:47 PM)
If he is going to be in a boot for 3 weeks, he isn't going to be ready to play for at least 3 or 4 weeks after that, if everything goes well, which would be a change for him. Let him take his time and add a week or 2 to the process. It isn't like he is Mike Trout and the Sox need him ASAP.
Right, but they'd still have to take him off the DL when he's ready, and call his minor league games a rehab assignment. We just don't know what they're thinking right now.
