  1. Tigers should have packed up their stuff and flown home last night. Get ready for the August 25 doubleheader announcement. I guess they'll wait 24 more hours for that.
  2. Sale facing the Pirates tomorrow night in Boston. Should be about 40 degrees at game time.
  3. I know some would disagree or been inconvenienced, but the call should have been made Sunday. Bottom line, there was a terrible forecast Monday, and a good one Tuesday. That's why they have the open date. They blew it. Now the same thing on a lesser level- they aren't playing tomorrow or Thursday. Stay ahead of it, and call both games tomorrow morning.
  4. If you want to listen to Brooks about the thinking yesterday... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/670-the-score-interviews/
  5. Can we agree on one thing? Jose Abreu will never be acquired by another team to be a 1B, so there's no point in him being a 1B here anymore. It's time to DH every single game and not put more stress on pitchers than there already is.
  6. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pumped for Padres series in May.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) We already have Jameson so why not a Beer? If only the Sox could snag Pint from the Rockies somehow... You win. I was going to say this is thread from 2013 about trading Viciedo for a case of beer, but you win.
  8. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 05:00 PM) Snow game Thursday. Get ready. They literally could call both games right now and send the Tigers home. Next game is Friday night.
  9. So they're announcing the May and August doubleheaders tonight, right?
  10. Pods gettin the flop sweats.
  11. C'mon Jacob. Make a memory.
  12. Shall we give 'em a finish?
  13. Ynoa has to be tough to face. Dude is a Redwood.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:37 PM) Ok, the Garcia baby announcement thing is probably the happiest thing that will happen in our ballpark in 2017. Prince Fielder should have announced it.
  15. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) It will certainly be easy to find the stupid people. We're better than this. A rebuild takes years. Day after the trade deadline. Four months of the guys they got. You can evaluate and make observations periodically as the next few years go by.
  16. It's going to be interesting what the consensus is on the state of the rebuild on August 1st.
  17. Rebuilding is the right move. Keep saying it.
  18. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) The back end of the lineup is just horrible, but that's mostly by design. Exactly. I'm rooting for these guys to be good enough to keep playing. Nobody wants to see May hitting .134 a month from now. But .234? Sure.
  19. Team USA/ Mariners pitcher Drew Smyly hits the 60-day DL.
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) Abreu needs to be a full time DH. That needs to happen asap, and if he doesn't like it, tough noogies.
  21. Narvaez is the epitome of warning track power.
  22. I expect after 6 starts, Quintana will have an ERA around 4, and trending in the right direction.
  23. Kinsler is a guy that if he stays healthy could start to sniff HOF consideration in a few years.
  24. Game day has the Sox leading 5-3. Wha?
