It doesn't have to be on one guy. It's a system-wide failure. The thing is, Robin Ventura isn't special. Even if you think he's competent, he's completely replaceable. I mean, if they fired him, what are the chances it came back to bite them? I'll tell you...zero.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:32 AM) There was a time recently that most everyone thought Adam Eaton was the greatest trade of all time ( forgive the slight exaggeration) and Ramirez is a plus defender and the Shark would take us over the top and on and on. If we are done bashing everyone let's get back to playing baseball. This team can still compete Wait, what? 87-75 might, might, win the second wildcard. Can't hit, can't field, terrible management...this team will not be going 59-38. They're probably going to trade a couple guys, and lose over 88 games. I'm expecting a top 6 pick next year, and it wouldn't shock me if the Sox pick 3rd. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) This is like something a fan would think up. I'll reserve judgement, but I'm shocked by this. I don't have to reserve judgement anymore. Terrible manager. Terrible coaching staff. Terrible players. Dormant franchise.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 03:20 PM) Gardenhire got 4 straight 90 loss seasons before he got fired. And how many division titles before that?
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) If we lose today did that mean we got swept once or twice? I know it's the same team but technically it's two different series. I guess it's technically two separate 2-game series, but every team is playing one of these 2 home/2 away interleague series.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) MLB is littered with Scott Carroll's on pretty much every roster. The problem with this team isn't the 25th guys, it is the first 5 roster players not playing like they should. Among other things.

If the Sox lose, they'll be the only AL team swept 4 straight by an NL team this week. So we have that going for us... Orioles, Royals, Astros, A's, and Rangers are going for a 4 game sweep of an NL team.

4-0 Pirates, two ways

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 01:26 PM) Who are the bad contracts? Alexei is up after this year and LaRoche and Danks are gone after next year. Even Melky is only 3 years. Robertson is a bit high but I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad contract. For next year it might make things a bit difficult but after 2016 I don't see anything that will hamper the franchise. You just made my day. Didn't realize he has a 1 mil buyout. See ya, Alexei.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) I don't have any problem with what Hahn said. Worst mistake we can make is act in a panic mode. We have good players with proven track records who just haven't met expectations. Doesn't mean they won't. Hate to be in a rebuilding mode every year because we aren't undefeated They don't have to panic, but they need to deal with the realization that what they're trying to do isn't working and it's time to try something different. This season is toast, the future doesn't look good with this roster or coaching staff, and the farm system isn't all that special. Time for serious changes, but if it doesn't fully happen until October or November, I guess we can wait.

I believe the Sox have the 2nd to worst record in the majors since the beginning of 2013, and let's not forget about the collapse in 2012. It's probably a little more than a lack of talent. What's happening with this organization is a failure from the top-down; not just players playing bad or under-performing.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I still don't understand if it's serious movie or not. I think they're playing it serious, but because it's them, it will be funny as hell.

Coop wasn't combative this time, but he wasn't taking any blame either. All on the players; nothing on the coaching staff. Not exactly the same as Hahn's, "We're all in this together". We'll see how this organization looks in 5 months. Hopefully different.

Mychal Thompson was on Mike and Mike this morning. He gave Trayce a shout-out for his two homers last night. Sounds like he was in the park. What a 24 hours.
-
Coop speaks on the Score at 8;40. This might be a good one. I'm sure he'll blame the fans in some roundabout way.
-
It would be nice to see a team take on Melky in July, move Avi to LF, and have two months of Garcia-Eaton-Thompson. Let's see what he has.

Admit it....you will watch a Lifetime Movie starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig.
-
Justin Jirschele will fix everything. Newest Sox legacy now hitting coach in Great Falls.

Quitana...honest mistake or an indictment of the clubhouse? But seriously...pass.
-
I don't know what the hell is going on in the clubhouse, but hopefully after this season they can take a long look at what they've been doing wrong for 7-8 years, and make some really aggressive moves with front office people, the coaching staff, and players on the team. This organization is a joke from top to bottom right now.

He's not all bad. Future LF/DH. Not what I would consider the problem right now.
-
Steverson is probably going to be the fall guy soon.
-
They need to clean house with the coaching staff, including Cooper. Time for a reboot.
-
Yeesh, how about a rain shortened game so they can get out of there.
