  1. Beltran’s jump next year will be interesting. I’d like to see Beltran, Beltre, Wagner, and Helton to get in next year. Maybe Mauer the following year on his second ballot with Jones, Ichiro, and Sabathia. They need a good cluster of guys getting in the next couple years.
  2. Take it for what it’s worth, but the Royals GM said today it would take a lot to part with Lopez and he expects him to be on the 2023 Royals.
  3. Glad at least one got in with McGriff.
  4. Yellowstone is out of ideas in the current season, but it’s ok. I’m a full two episodes into Succession, and I really like it! Looking forward to getting though these three seasons.
  5. DVS voted for 9 including Manny and Arod. No Buehrle. Shame!!!
  6. I’m just going to assume he’ll never take the bump for the Sox, and that’s fine.
  7. It might say more about Clevinger taking a deal as soon as he could.
  8. I used to hate him just for his stupid delivery. Now this…
  9. I’m not sure I’d call it hot dogging, but one thing they can start with is the fundamental effort of getting out of the batters box immediately after making contact with the ball. Some singles need to turn into doubles. Some doubles need to turn into a man on third. The lazy jog down to first base needs to addressed this spring. It cannot be tolerated. And no, I’m not saying a guy needs to sprint on a routine grounder to second base. You know an unprofessional effort when you see it.
  10. It certainly would make sense the leader would be a shortstop that’s been here the longest, and has accomplished things in the game. It also doesn’t hurt he’s got two years left to prove he’s worth a big payday from somebody. I hope Tim has it in him to take his leadership to the next level.
  11. Eloy- you be the leader. You’ll be in the dugout most of the time anyway.
  12. So this jackass thought Rolen was worthy last year, but not when he’s knocking on the door. The voting process need to change, but I guess this what the Hall wants.
  13. When the drafted Madrigal, they were also trying to trade for Machado from Baltimore, and then also failed to get him in free agency. They figured they’d get the power bat, and that Nick would fit in as the scrappy guy that gets hits and makes the routine play. They took what they perceived as a high floor guy. Didn’t work out.
  14. I’m giving Romy first shot while Sosa is in AAA. Madrigal will get traded to Washington or something.
  15. Grifol on the Score now. Said Colas will get the opportunity in spring training, but he wants to see Eloy in RF once or twice a week. Yuck. Hopefully it’s a handful of games, if that.
  16. RIP David Crosby, 81
  17. It’s kind of sad how much we’re expecting athletic players in their mid 20s to get injured and miss significant time every year. I get having depth, but if we don’t get 140+ games from the guys we’re supposed to, then this isn’t going to work anyway. For now, I’m fairly happy with the projected 26. Let’s see how it goes with the new coaching staff and training staff. And there’s always the trade deadline if there’s a need that makes sense.
  18. I think my ballot would look a lot like this. Definitely a Buehrle and Rollins guy based on the time they played, and I’m not against Hunter. Also wish Tim Hudson didn’t fall off last year. As for Andruw Jones and Billy Wagner- I was never big on them, but hey, close enough. They’re getting in eventually, so hopefully sooner than later. Again, stop putting in 75+ yr olds and dead people. Figure it out sooner so the player and the fans they played for, can enjoy it!
  19. I was really looking for some good Keynan Middleton signing discussion yesterday.
  20. I’m hopeful for a good season, especially under a new coaching staff. That usually bumps up the effort and energy level. I just hope we stay healthy enough to find out what we have at this point. Based on history, it would be a miracle to get 150 starts each out of Robert, Eloy, TA, Moncada, and Vaughn, but that’s what we really need.
  21. With Trevor Story out, gotta think Harrison and Andrus are both options for Boston. I’d like our Sox to eat Leury’s 11 mil and sign Elvis, but we know that’s not happening.
