When Will the Sox be Competitive Again?
This is a question I'm afraid to think about too much. Hopefully 2015. It won't be before then unless a ton goes right.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 12, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Holmberg is still only in AA? He turns 22 in July. He made 12 starts at High-A last year, then 15 starts at AA. Maybe he gets moved up to AAA mid-season.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2013 -> 11:27 AM) The problem is we're more than one Edwin Jackson or bat away from competing in the Central still. We have four teams stacked up ahead of us...and that's 3 1/2 games ahead in the standings. So let's not trade Erik Johnson unless someone who knows something about pitching (and not Buddy Bell) is 100% convinced he's not going to be the next Gio, Hudson or McCarthy. Holmberg's got an ERA under 2 at AA. #cantletitgo

Desperate times call for...three bold moves
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 12, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) I like the idea of moving Alexei for Matt Adams from the Cardinals. The guy is 23, tears the cover off the ball and the Cards don't have a position for him anywhere. Not sure if it's realistic or not but he's a LH power bat with big upside and could be our future First Baseman. He's 25 in August, but yeah, I'd take that. But is he just another Andy Wilkins which we already have?

I honestly don't think any team would want Adam Dunn at any price. He's going to get paid until the end of 2014, and then he's done with baseball.

QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:00 PM) Joe Mauer has 15 hits the last 7 games, 9 of them are doubles. Where do the Sox go next?

From Day 1, I said the Sox had to be 50-38 before facing the Tigers on July 9. With the rainout, I'll lower that to 49-38. Sox would have to go 35-18. Um, yeah.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) If people go I want Kenny Williams gone from organization with no say so on any player decisions EVER again! If I could have one wish of just one move, including never hearing Hawk or Farmer again, I would take having KW leave the Sox forever first.

I'm very confident saying Flowers won't be with the White Sox organization in spring training, 2014.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:09 PM) Hawk, who gives a s*** if Gillaspie is available? FRIERI OWNS LEFTIES. How is everyone ignoring this? We've had 3 lefties face Frieri, all of them struck out. TWTW

QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2013 -> 08:53 PM) With Jacob Turner looking like a bust candidate, that trade for Sanchez and Infante looks incredible for them. Be bad, get some stars, get good, add on...sounds like a plan.

And now the bullpen has to hold them for nine outs, while we try to scratch out a couple runs.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 11, 2013 -> 07:54 PM) Has the majority of you given up on the season? Serious question. It's not a matter of giving up. It's a matter of recognizing this team can't get to 88 wins, which is probably the minimum to win a 2nd wildcard spot. They're an awful team.
