QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 12, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) De Aza so worthless. And he was so valuable last year. He was very good for most of the year.

No, really. Get a run.

Even in his first couple pitches of the game, Sale looked extra crispy. Let's get a run here.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) Davey Johnson pulled Gio today after 7 innings and 86 pitches of 2 hit baseball. Storen quickly came in and gave up the lead. Needless to say, the Nationals fans are not happy with Johnson's managing this season. The Baseball Gods hate when pitchers are pulled in 1-0 games with less than 100 pitches.

When Will the Sox be Competitive Again?
This is a question I'm afraid to think about too much. Hopefully 2015. It won't be before then unless a ton goes right.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 12, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Holmberg is still only in AA? He turns 22 in July. He made 12 starts at High-A last year, then 15 starts at AA. Maybe he gets moved up to AAA mid-season.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2013 -> 11:27 AM) The problem is we're more than one Edwin Jackson or bat away from competing in the Central still. We have four teams stacked up ahead of us...and that's 3 1/2 games ahead in the standings. So let's not trade Erik Johnson unless someone who knows something about pitching (and not Buddy Bell) is 100% convinced he's not going to be the next Gio, Hudson or McCarthy. Holmberg's got an ERA under 2 at AA. #cantletitgo

Desperate times call for...three bold moves
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 12, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) I like the idea of moving Alexei for Matt Adams from the Cardinals. The guy is 23, tears the cover off the ball and the Cards don't have a position for him anywhere. Not sure if it's realistic or not but he's a LH power bat with big upside and could be our future First Baseman. He's 25 in August, but yeah, I'd take that. But is he just another Andy Wilkins which we already have?

I honestly don't think any team would want Adam Dunn at any price. He's going to get paid until the end of 2014, and then he's done with baseball.
