QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) They're the weakest basically every year. It's never too early to make that prediction. All divisions are weak. And pointless.

2013 AL Central Catch All thread
QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 04:46 PM) Well if you're going "on pace" every other division leader would be on pace to finish with a better record than KC. And some of the second and third place teams would as well since they all have better records than most AL Central teams. It's just very early to know that the AL central will be considered weak. There may be three weak teams, but two 90 game winners. These are the standings I look at until mid-August when the unbalanced schedule kicks in. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/group/5

Tekotte optioned to AAA. Move on Tuesday. Casper Wells?

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox
When the season started, if you would have said they'll go 4-2 at home to start and split with the Blue Jays and Rays in April, I would have thought they had a very good month. But Washington swept, and 2-3 vs Cle, and 0-2 vs Min. May looks brutal, but we'll see.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) This has all the making of 2007 with so many AAA players on the roster. This team needs to get healthy and fast. I guess, but in my opinion it's an 84-win team that may turn into a 74-win team with a bunch of injuries, and being forced to make mid-season moves. It wasn't going to be a postseason team either way, but Hawk will use the injury narrative.

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox
At least Hawk has the built-in excuse for years to come that the 2013 White Sox were snakebitten from the start.

Rondon is getting his feet wet now. He still may turn out to be the tigers closer--and who knows, he may be real good. Time will tell.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) Wonder if the fact that Rios hasn't been given any extra offdays this year is catching up with him. That's a good point. After going 0-4 with 3 K's last night, I was thinking he would get today off if Wise could play. With a tough lefty like Price and runs at a premium, I can understand why he played today.

QUOTE (Skipper @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Long ways to go in this one. Only down by 3. Care to amend that? I thought there were two outs already. Don't call it a comeback...

Shades of Wrigley right there. Team sucks.

This ump has been bad for both teams today.

2013 AL Central Catch All thread
QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 27, 2013 -> 02:24 PM) Just looking at the records, pretty easy to determine that the Central is going to be a weak division again. Well, let's see... KC 12-8, on pace for 97 wins Det 12-10, on pace for 88 wins, and that includes them already going out west for a 4-5 trip It's not easy to determine anything with this division. But I don't think the AL Central is any more strong or weak than the other two divisions at this point. We'll see where the records are at the end of May. Get about 1/3 of the season in the books to get a better grasp on the divisions.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 27, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) De Aza has left 6 men on base in last 2 innings not easy to do. EPIC FAIL He would make a heck of a 9-hole hitter on a good team.
