I have a good feeling about this Quintana feller. He may be legit. Does anyone have any info on why the Yankees let him go?

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 15, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) I dread the "Crosstown Classic". I never refer to playing the Cubs as that, but hopefully this is the last year of playing 6 games.
-
Hopefully Floyd can outduel Jerome Williams tomorrow night, and then it's Sale vs CJ Wilson Thursday afternoon. Take a split out there, and come home and knock around the Cubs for a few days at Wrigley. Then the Twins and Indians at the Cell. It's time for a 9-2 stretch.

And today's Hawk Show has come to an end.

Could have gone up 5-3 in the season series. Sox give away too many games.
-
The Tigers probably felt they should have won last night. Looks like the Sox could be saying the same after today.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) If the Sox sell, it will be at the very end of the trading deadline. They aren't going to go through all of the White Flag stuff again if they can help it, and if they do, they will want to be able to justify it. Probably, but when it comes to trading starting pitching, there's a lot of value in trading a guy that can give a contender 15-16 starts as opposed to 11 or 12.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) If attendance stays where it is at, I don't think being within a few games of the Tigers will stop the Sox from selling parts if they get the right offers. True, but the AS break is July 9. Unless the Sox tank it between now and the end of interleague, I can't see them making deals before the break. They'll have that period between July 13 and 31 to do stuff. If they're just .500, or slightly above or below .500 at the break, I want them to make trades no matter how many games back they are. This team can't afford to think they can get hot in September.
-
50 games until the break. Basically the Sox need to play .600 ball to get back to respectability. 30-20 will get them to 46-39 at the break. Still waiting for the Tigers to kick it in to gear, but a crap division could keep the Sox from making some trades that could help the franchise for years.

This site has an update mock draft today. Has the Sox taking a Duke pitcher. Short guy. http://www.mymlbdraft.com/MLB-Mock-Draft-2012

Leyson Septimo seemed to be used every day in spring training, but it looks like he goes every 3-4 days now. Anyway, he's been good when he's been used. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?p...&pid=465015

Sale back to the rotation per KW, MRI comes back clean

QUOTE (sunofgold @ May 11, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) So did we officially name a closer? sale was the closer and now back into the rotation. Now we need to name our closer. Think RV forgot. oops. hope that it is Reed, Addison! He said it's a matchup thing right now, but that's crap. It'll be Reed. -
Semien with a homer. 17-game hitting streak. How's his D?
-
What's got into Doyle tonight? 10 k's in 5 innings. You can understand why the Twins couldn't keep him, but do you think they'd like him back now?
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 11, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Back problems lingering. What the heck is it with Sox 3Bmen and back issues? Iwonder if Joe Crede is healed up enough from his surgeries to try a comeback? Crede's done. I think he's happy being a fat farmer in Missouri.

Crain--K, HBP, pop out, pop out. Doyle in now.

The bullpen is: Stults, Stewart, Santiago, Ohman, Jones, Thornton, and Reed. I think they finally came to their senses about Reed. That only took two months. I kinda like the idea of keeping Stults and sending Santiago down when Crain comes back, which could be Monday. With Humber and Sale iffy now, they need two long relief guys.

Sale back to the rotation per KW, MRI comes back clean
flavum replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like it. Selfishly, I'd rather have Sale need TJS than to see him in the bullpen the next five years. He was drafted as a starter. He wants to start. Let him start, and see what happens. Going back to last week, they should have shut him down for two weeks. But whatever. Fresh start tomorrow. -
If the Angels want to talk Alberto Callaspo, I'd rather see something like that. Keep it small. Don't give up pitching.
