DKnobler @DKnobler
Angels are 7-15. Marlins about to go 8-14. Only 3 of last 27 teams to start that slow finished season over .500.
I didn't think the Marlins would finish .500 when the season started, or much better than .500.
If the Angels pitching is healthy, I'll still take them to win upper-80's wins.
If they won the two games they blew, even with a s***ty offense, the Sox would be 13-9, and I would have taken that.
I wanted 30 wins by June 1, so they have to go 19-10 this month. I'll settle for 17-12 in May with 3-2 vs Det and 6-4 vs Cleveland. Yes, we have 10 games vs the Indians this month.

Triple for Saladino, Drew Garcia 2/2 with the RBI.
16-39 last 10 games. Wonder if they would do something with him if Beckham goes down.

My guess is he has all of May to show SIGNIFICANT improvement otherwise he'll be sent down.
They were talking on the Score this morning that there's a date coming soon that Beckham would have to be sent down, otherwise he'd have to clear waivers. They said May 5th, but weren't sure. I know his 3 years in the bigs would be June 4th, but maybe the date they were speaking of is sooner. Anyway, I hope it's soon, because he can't hit a fastball. Send him down until he can.

Konerko was originally in the lineup and was scratched with a stiff neck.
Didn't realize Birmingham had a night game...

Mitchell is 5-5 today, but I won't say anything more than that. Can't get too excited.
Quintana good so far.

Why are people thinking calling him a September call-up candidate is so crazy? It's not like they said he will be in Chicago by June. 15 players get added to the roster in September, and I can see Robin wanting an advanced speedy player on his bench if the Sox are in the hunt.
Thank you.
Maybe I did a bad job making my point. The season has a long way to go, but considering where he was a year ago, and where he is now, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility he's in the Sox dugout in September. I hope he plays well enough to get there.
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 01:03 PM)
He hasn't even had 100 PA yet.
I'm a fan, not an armchair scout.
I said we'll see what happens, but again, he looked very good in spring training.
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 12:50 PM)
Wow take it easy. It hasn't even been a month yet and he still has a high K rate.
We'll see. He was a first rounder that got hurt, and now he's got a .447 OBP in AA.
I don't think there's anything wrong with being excited about this, nor do I think it's unrealistic to think he'll be up in September.

Mariners up 3-0 after 1 in Detroit, looking to finish the sweep.
Sox and Tigers both started 10-8. I'd take our 10-8 over their's.

Mitchell 3-3, BB, 3B
Can you say September callup? I didn't think it was possible last year, but he looked great in spring, and he's still going.
I've seen enough of Santiago and Reed to know what the right move is.
Santiago was never supposed to be the closer to begin with, so there's nothing wrong with pulling the plug on him already.
Reed should close. Always should have.

Go away Brent Morel.
May have cost a game. I'd still have no problem putting Morel and Beckham on a plane to Charlotte.
