  1. Sox should go after heyward and have the Cubs pitch 4-6 million a year in , he's still a great defender that needs a change of scenery
  2. Harper's best years are ahead of him , he just needs protection. You can't have crap hitting 1,2,3,4,5,6
  3. The Thome trade was a bad one , as much as iiked thome, if we retained Rowand and Thomas 2006 / 2007 would have been much better and possibly made the playoffs in 06. Brian Anderson was Adam Engel on a playoff team.
  4. I think the Sox will get machado, unless he absolutely don't wanna come here or the offer is garbage. Makes sense, only 25? And no draft pick comp attached, a no-brainer for a team with a 40 million dollar payroll that needs to be competitive and put butts in the seats , tv ratings
  5. Bring him back, this dead organization needs a fire lit under it's @$$
  6. And 1b is the go-to position for all the minor league power hitters who cant handle the OF or 3b/C. Palka types, who are a dime a dozen
  7. moustakas 38hr 85rbi .275 in 2017, signed in MARCH for 6 million. He'd be a hell of a 3b/1b
  8. Why draft a 1b when u can buy a free agent 1b who can hit 30-40 hr 100 rbi for around 10-12 million.
  9. Rockies are bad and boring, Cubs at least would of won a game or two , or I'd enjoy watching them get swept, made it interesting. Brewers likely a world series contender , and possible winner.
  10. From best record in NL all second half to knocked out in wildcard . Cubs will have a interesting off-season.
  11. Don't watch ESPN much but cannot believe how bad it is now. This is the worst , uninformed group of announcers I've ever heard.
  12. Should have been a doubleplay ,what a joke. The Rockies are dumb ass hell.
  13. As much as I'd like the Cubs to lose, this Rockies is managed dumb and frustrating to watch. Almost rather see the Brewers knock the Cubs out .
  14. Should have been a pitch out on gore , 99.9% chance he steals. Then give Baez a meatball down the middle on 0-2? Rockies don't want it either .
  15. Horrible decision by black. If they could give the cubs a run though , they still won't take it lol. The cubs still can't hit good pitching , almost makes you wonder if maddons coaching/decison making has pissed off the team.
  16. Yes, definetly GM of year in NL. Sox could have easily traded for yellich (signed cheap til 2022!), Signed moustakas cheap , signed Cain etc but didn't do squat. Brewers took advantage of the "tank on purpose" market and got excellent, cheap free agents and traded AAAA prospects for a MVP. They also have a good manager , depth due to signings / trades / drafts. Great job by the Brewers organization, a very fun team to watch, as the Sox try to imitate the 2013 Cubs for the third year
  17. Freeland numbers look very good , should easily shutdown the Cubs offense, but Lester should have is A game. Rockies should easily handle the cubs in a low scoring pitcher dual.
  18. Lol Contreras struck out twice after a gift from the ump
  19. Even walking yellich Everytime puts 1 , 2 or 3 runners on, Braun and aguilar will get good pitches to hit .
  20. Chacin has better numbers against the Cubs than Q against Brewers.
  21. Brewers win 7-1, Quintana chokes and gives up 4 ER in 2.2 ip, Cubs offense can't hit good pitching .
  22. Cubs limping into playoffs , without murph and hamels they'd be out of it. Brewers should smoke them tomorrow , they're struggling against the bad teams including the Cardinals with half the team shutdown and not playing
  23. Yes, this team is a joke. 2019 will be worse than 18 unless they make massive changes. Fire Hahn, KW, Renteria, Coop (great coach but statement needs made), trainers, to start. Sign a real GM who can build his own staff. There's some minor league depth , but many are injured/not ready. It really wouldnt be hard to make this team competitive of they signed decent free agents , made some trades as 50% of the teams are in rebuild mode. We will have another top 5 pick, And lots of $ to spend. No excuse not to be in 2nd place next year, and oh yeah, the Hahn era has cost the Sox billions in revenue from ticket/merchandise sales and radio/tv deals due to lack of interest in a shit team
