Hopefully the rebuild management, scouting and player development this off-season , long overdue.
-
Rodon probably hurt , 14 runs 3.0 innings not right , unless you're throwing batting practice
-
Hopefully Rodon isnt hurt (major) , he looked very bad against the Cubs, now getting lit up again. His velocity looked down and kept throwing way out of zone his last start.
-
Cubs looking more likely for wild card , Cardinals easily take 2/3 or sweep, Brewers will crush the tigers
-
AJ would be a great announcer or manager
-
Rodon looked like crap , at least I didn't waste $ on a ticket
-
At least the Sox have a stacked farm system, and lots of money to spend. With so many teams tanking, free agents signing cheap, and salary dumps , there's no excuse to not be competitive in 2019.
-
Trading Chris Sale should be a fireable offense.

Sawx @ Sox, 7:10, 9/1- Rodriguez vs Rodon

Rodon has been a very solid ace , 2019 might be a very exciting season -
8/30 GT - BOS @ CHW; Porcello vs. Giolito 7:10pm

Shields , I've seen enough of Covey. But I'd rather see Shields in a Cubs uniform at this point. I don't care if we lose every game rest of season as long as the big four develop into a great rotation next year, then it's up to Hahn to make us competitive in 2019 in a weak ass division. This crap bullpen we've been sporting since the 2017 trade deadline is pathetic . -

The Sox starting pitching finally came around (a bit better and later than i figured) but this bullpen is absolute trash. -
Please trade Big lame James, even though he was ok this season , he cost us Tatis Jr and and turned a possible 2016 playoff team into a pure embarrassment, hopefully he can do the same for the Cubs.

No but Sale is the most talented pitcher in baseball, and has a drive to WIN. If you compare them today you see who the real deal is (Sale) and who can't handle pressure or Lacks pure talent (Quintana). Sale wanted to be the best and win , and the defense did him no favors. He's out there to get three outs a inning , not 4 or 5.
-
Sale had piss poor defense for most his years on the Sox, and lack of offense. His fits and frustrations make were ok with me. Management failed him and the fan base by drafting very poorly ,being cheap on free agency , and bad trades. Good luck to Chris and hopefully he wins a world series , big contract and hof. Also ZERO chance he even considers ever returning to the white Sox.

Eloy will be a nice addition , Definetly need to trade or sign a proven spark plug CF, definetly a proven veteran type ace , a true closer , and a bullpen. Some young starters may and will have to be demoted to pen. Also a lot of defensive holes , which are big problems . 2b/SS need gold glove potential guys on a winning ball club , though they deserve more time to prove themselves but not the usually 3-5 years because they were Sox top prospects who have been failed on development or lack the talent needed. Also, this is a losing culture and free agents tend not to want to come here unless Sox over pay , and they're usually medicore players at best, and it's usually a career killer by the end of contract.
-
This season is a wash, yes the Sox will have a top 3 draft pick , and some top prospects are getting MLB experience , but 2019 needs change. This losing Culture that's gone on practically since 2007 has nearly wiped out half the fan base. The horrible general managing from 2007-2015 destroyed the farm system , now it's finally good, but only 50% off the top guy's will make it as average major leaguers , 1 in 5 or so will be above average , and 1 in 10 will be a all star. The Sox have had plenty of early first round picks , and have failed miserably for years (minus Chris Sale). The scouting has been down right awful , as far as scouting talent and opponets. The manager has been a trash since Ozzie in 2006. 2019 needs a winning a culture , this team has the money to spend (we need to spend big on a franchise player (Machado) and a ace. This team needs to buy a bullpen , catcher at minimum. With the talent coming up over the next two years a winning culture needs to happen and they must spend big money , and get a good, experienced manager. A winning culture and true player development is much needed , or this rebuild will be a massive fail, and attendence will continue to decline. Ready for 2019, as this team is too hard to watch, and I continue to watch more Cubs games than sox , And I truly dislike the Cubs .

Worst defense I've ever seen, looks like my softball team. 100+ losses easy.

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 08:49 AM) This is another low point in the JR ownership. The team can't get a major beer sponsor on their TV + Radio broadcasts. Some people have posted that the White Sox will receive a new TV deal in 2 years. I really wonder how much the team will get from that deal. The next 2 seasons are going to be brutal and I have to wonder if the team is going to get any big offers from any TV station. Exactly , team is rolling dice on rebuild that they won't spend money on to build around. This team won't have a 1-2 punch close to sale/quintana for decades, or a cf like Adam Eaton for years. They blew a huge chance I. 2016 to build around the core because they're too damn cheap. A Dexter Fowler, catcher, and some depth could of made the 23-10 run go on all season. The embassment of the crap catchers, relying on Austin Jackson to play 162 games, trading for shields, relying on Danks to start, Avi, albers, Jerry fu&!ing sands starting DH, bullpen injuries, and Robin Ventura experiment that should of ended in 2012 made 2016 the most embarrassing season I've ever witnessed to be a Sox fan. Kw, Hahn and buddy bell should of been fired with Ventura. This team is gonna have to be stacked and winning for YEARS to get any type of fan base back.

Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal

A 16th pick from 2012 and a foreign amateur free agent for a 3 years of sale is a massive fail. -

QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) How does a 21 year old's stock plummet in 4 MLB starts?? Carson Fulmer? -
Giants and dodgers were really weak teams, cubs should of swept both teams. Indians have been hot throughout playoffs , cubs have them talent wise but it depends on how the cubs hit. Unfortunately cubs are built to win the next 3-5 years with no competition in sight in national league. I'm hoping Indians win in seven, but cubs probably got them in five games as long as they hit the ball or don't have a mental breakdown that leads to a choke . Not only do the cubs have top young talent theyve also bought a the finishing pieces to puzzle , more timely than Yanks/bosox ever have. I think this year and next year will be theyre prime dominant years and they'll slowly decline due to bad contracts , injuries , and lack off high draft picks
-
Yeah why would RV bat him 5th.. smgdfh , he's a #8 hitter at best or a backup
-
No reason to rebuild unless they do another half as build around the core. They need more power, speed, and serious depth. All the minor injuries opened many black holes And they're still only 4 games under. Hell just James shields/Matt albers have officially lost 16 games, given up 116 runs in 136 ip combined. Absolutely horrible. Just having coats/shuck/Avi out there instead of jackson probably cost another 7-10 games. Robertson has 7 blown saves, Nate Jones has 9 blown saves. Danks was 0-4. That's 46 losses on 5 players.
