  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) If I ever see Manny in LF over Andruw, I'll crap. Wait til the world series when Kotsay starts in LF with CQ, Manny, and Jones on the bench.
  2. I wouldn't be opposed to resigning manny next year if he really wants to play for the sox, and if we resign konerko, i really like this lineup. and with peavy back, our rotation WILL be the best in baseball.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) So who gets removed from the 25 man for tomorrow? Kotsay is the most useless, followed by Linebrink. DL them for being DB's (douchebags)
  4. Nice... we need him. This has gotta be a real kick in the nuts to Thome, Dye, considering Sox could of had them all year for fraction of Manny's price for one month.
  5. Think positive... Maybe Kotsay will get cut if Twins sweep.
  6. It's too late in the year to cut Kotsay...the only way I see it happening is if we go on a bad losing streak and acquire a big bat.
  7. I have a feeling Manny will be in a Sox uniform the day he returns from DL... LA is almost 10 games back. Sox need him for World Series run and they ESPN might actually acknowledge the Sox with Manny.. not too mention attendence, merchandise, etc, it makes too much sense to get him.

  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) What if they offered Dunn + Livan Hernandez for Jackson, Viciedo, and Danks2. Would you do it? Hell no. The Sox dont need to trade any more prospects. This power hitter could of been signed the last two Winters for no prospects. (Matsui, Vlad, Dunn, Thome, Manny, Abreu, Damon, BYRD)
  10. Mark Kotsay sucks, do something. Any other 1st place team would cut Kotsay, even as a bench player. I can't think of any team in baseball that would start him regular.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/i...new-carl-pavano Is Edwin Jackson the next Carl Pavano? Rob Neyer, ESPN.com Analysis of Hudson and Holmberg by BA http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/major...10/2610442.html Actually I'm thinking the next dontrelle willis (5.00+ era in NL)
  12. Sometimes I wonder how far ahead the Sox would be of the Twins if we signed Hudson/Thome instead of Kotsay/Nix.
  13. How about Mark Teahen/Dan Hudson/Jordan Danks for Chone Figgins/Russel Branyan 3b figgins 2b beckham cf rios 1b konerko rf quentin dh branyan ss ramirez c aj p lf pierre carlos torres called up for hudson.
  14. I'm tired of seeing kotsay in the lineup. WHY NOT VICIEDO or JONES or CASTRO or EVEN LILLIBRIDGE. Kotsay sucks.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) Ryan Braun? lol I'm pretty sure he's no good. Actually nobody in the minors is any good or MLB ready.
  16. I don't know where to start. This team is as bad as 2007 yet there hasn't been a significant injury. Payroll is over 100 million. We have NINE guys on active roster hitting under .250, and four swirling around .200. 1. DFA Kotsay, Randy Williams, Ramon Castro, Scott Linebrink. 2. Send Gordon Beckham, Carlos Quentin to AAA and get them some easy at bats and a hitting coach (Even though it seems there AAA hitting coach sucks too.) 3. Sign Jermaine Dye NOW, get him a few weeks in AAA and have him DH/PH/OF when needed. (If he's willing, or he can stay at home and keep laughing at former team). 4. Recall Dayan Viciedo til Dye is ready, Donny Lucy, Morel 5. Make trade with Cubs. They have FIVE outfielders who could start here and make any of ours look silly. They need pen help, so say Bobby Jenks Colvin or more likely Xavier Nady. 6. Make a trade, get some prospects. Move Buehrle and AJ P. As much as I don't want them to go, they probably won't be resigned and can get back a few decent prospects. C- Tyler Flowers, Donny Lucy 1B- Paul Konerko 2B- Jayson Nix (BECKHAM) 3B- Morel (til Teahen unfortunately comes back) SS- Ramirez RF- Pierre/Quentin CF- Rios LF- Jones/Quentin DH- Dye/Viciedo/Nady/Pierre SP - Peavy Danks Floyd Garcia Hudson CL Santos SETUP Thorton Putz Torres Pena Ryan Braun I think after all those changes the team still sucks, but might have a better shot at winning. This team would atleast be .500. And a new coaching staff wouldn't hurt either, or a hell a GM that's whats to win his way, not Ozzies way.
  17. who's gonna pinch hit for vizquel... the bench sucks too. i think jones is hurt or something, atleast he better be.
  18. When will Kotsay be released... come on 0-5 and under .200avg again.. a WINNING team wouldn't keep kotsay on the roster.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) I note in your Zeal to go after the Sox that they're the only team on your list that has a recent World Series win, and they have as many recent playoff appearances as any other team on that list. The Sox are my favorite team since 1991 when I was old enough to start watching baseball.. after 2005 my expectations were high, 2006 was enjoyable but disappointment, 2007 was the first season I lost interest, 2008 was exciting at end and probably most frustrating team I've seen, 2009 was frusterating, and 2010 has suckage like 2007 written all over it. Major moves need to be made. With this payroll, talent, etc I think KW has made some very bad moves since 2005. It's time to move on from the KW/Ozzie regime if this team wants to make headlines for winning, not drama. Pods/Ely/Link/Cash > Pierre Getz/Cash > Teahen Anything (Thome, Getz, Nix) > Omar Vizquel/Kotsay Andruw Jones was a good signing... considering we could of kept Getz, signed Orlando Hudson, or done a lot different than getting Teahen. We could of got Thome for the price of Kotsay as well. I just don't get these moves and why he has to make trades and deplete the system in a cheap free agent market.
  20. 1. Pirates 2. Cubs 3. Royals 4. Orioles 5. Nationals 6. Mets 7. Reds In between decent and frustrating crap every year: 1. Brewers 2. A's 3. Mariners 4. White Sox 5. Rockies
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 07:23 AM) I thought I recalled reading somewhere that Danks would make us forget about BA and his defense... Hopefully the two aren't being compared to each other... Brian Anderson's are dime a dozen in AAA.
  22. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) Per season average: .283, 11 HR, 42 RBI 2005 Post-season: .266, 0 HR, 3 RBI He's been deified by some because of running into walls and being super-grindy, but Rowand was a good player here, never a great one. Certainly not worth the money SF ended up giving him IMO. RIOS: $9.7 million in 2010, $12 million each in 2011 and 2012 and $12.5 million apiece in 2013 and 2014, and $13.5 million team option for 2015 with a $1 million buyout. Rios isn't much of a bargain at all.
