  1. The Bradley-Creighton game is shaping up to be a good finish. 67-67 under 4 minutes left.
  2. Those of us far enough south to get Fox Sports Net Midwest will be watching the both games tonight. Drake currently up 50-38 over Indiana State about 10:00 minutes left.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 11:34 PM) I'm not good enough at math to figure out numbers, but momentum has been so important on the DEM side, and Clinton cleary has it after tonight, which is why to me it feels like the race is a 2 candidate quagmire again. Plus, I saw 3/5 to 2/3 of voters who decided in the last 3 days that voted tonight overall voted for Hillary, that has to be a big concern for Obama. That may be true but let me point you to a site that BigSqwert posted in the DEM Primaries thread. http://www.slate.com/features/delegatecounter/ Not many pledged delegates left after tonight. The two biggest states are North Carolina and Pennsylvania. I would imagine that NC is going to go Obama and Penn will not be a very wide margin of victory for either candidate. Unless the Democratic Party wants to piss off half of its prospective voters for November they will pick the leader in pledged delegates, which is very likely going to be Barack Obama, as their nominee.
  4. The very brief part of Hillary's speech I heard she said something to the effect of "we're just getting started." That's funny. I would have thought you would have wanted to "get started" before you got beat in about 26 contests already. She'll spin this into a win but in actuality she may gain a very small victory in delegates for the night and still need a near miracle to pass Obama in pledged delegates before the convention.
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) Not sure if this was already posted in this thread. Pretty cool tool for figuring out delegate math. http://www.slate.com/features/delegatecounter/ So...if Hillary sweeps with 58% of the vote from Ohio until the end she will pass Obama in total pledged delegates by a count of 1,606 to 1,603. I really don't see this happening for her.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 08:48 AM) If that's the book's ending, then I guess that's the proper ending. I see where you're coming from and I guess that could've worked too.
  7. QUOTE(kjshoe04 @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) I really think we are in now. If not I think the selection committee will have made a mistake. ISU has had a great season, I really can't believe we won tonight. And, bones, i can't believe im not the only isu fan on this board. I hope you're right but I still have my doubts. And it would have been nice if they hadn't waited until the year after I graduated to have a season like this.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) You guys are in the tourney for sure. I highly doubt that. I think we need to at least make the championship game and maybe need to win it all. Unfortunately, after tonight I think SIU needs to win the tournament to get in.
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) I hate you. Good win for ISU tonight but it's still gonna come down to how they perform in the tournament. It's always tough to beat a team 3 times in one season. Of course we'll each have to win our quarterfinal game first.

    So...I saw Atonement last night to complete my viewing of the 5 nominees for Best Picture at the Oscars. My personal ranking would look something like this. 1) No Country for Old Men 2) Juno 3) There Will Be Blood 4) Atonement 5) Michael Clayton Anyone else seen all 5? I think it's a pretty good group this year all things considered. At least there's no real duds even with Michael Clayton just seeming like a slightly above average legal thriller. I fail to see how that movie warrants 7 nominations.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) Anyone like The Cool Kids? If so, is there anywhere I can download "88" and "Mikey Rocks"? I can only find "Black Maggs" (excellent and kind-of funny music video, BTW). I saw them open for M.I.A. back in November and really liked their performance. I came home and listened to a few of their songs and I gotta say while they were still decent, they were much better live. Something just didn't translate too well from the performance to the studio.
  14. an attempt to lighten the mood around here... http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/c722e0c687
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) Illinois is in town tonight... I can't wait to get back from the game to see a number of posts in here complaining about how bad the refs are and how you guys can't wait to see Pruitt/Randle graduate Illinois carries a 17-game winning streak over Minnesota into Tuesday's game, a streak that began with the 1999 Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinal. It is the longest active winning streak by any Big Ten school over a conference opponent. haha...make that 18 in a row. if nothing else this year we've kept our streaks against missouri and minnesota.

  17. is it football season yet? illinois finds more ways to lose than any team i have ever seen.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 10:12 PM) Who is worse at hitting free throws when it matters most? Illinois or SIU? shaun pruitt says, "illinois"
  19. haha...it was nothing. chester is so damn tiny it didn't even faze gordon anyways...probably just laughed about it with his teammates. anyways it's a good game so far. hope illinois doesn't go on one of its famous 8 minute scoring droughts in the second half.
  20. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) Haha, anyone see what Frazier did to Gordon? What a little b****. Its one thing if your decent, but this guy flat out sucks. oh...boohoo...he bumped him before the game. give me a break there's much more contact than that during every college basketball game. espn is just trying to make a story out of nothing.
