The Illinois State Redbirds and Drake Bulldogs set to battle for the top spot in the MVC. Wow...that felt really weird typing that out.

illinois state moves to 6-0 in the MVC and wins their ninth game in a row with a 72-51 win over wichita state. i love my jankovich.

illinois gets its first big ten win. illinois would have quite a few more wins if pruitt and randle could play that well every night.

It'll be interesting if Romney's win can give him a boost in Nevada and South Carolina. The only recent poll I've seen for Nevada shows him in fourth and he seems to be well behind Huckabee and McCain in South Carolina.

yeah...shoot 'em up is first and foremost a comedy. it's basically an entire movie filled with ridiculous, unbelievable scenes that most action movies only have one or two of. so...if you're looking for more of a dramatic action thriller you're going to be disappointed. but i definitely recommend it for anyone just looking for about 90 minutes of non-stop over-the-top fun.

Everyone complaining about Georgia not being in the Rose Bowl needs to refresh themselves on the rules. The Rose would have to ask permission from the Sugar for Georgia, being that the SEC Champ LSU got to the Nat'l Championship and Georgia was the next highest ranked SEC team. I doubt that the Sugar, being stuck with Hawaii already with the last pick, would be willing to give up one of the hottest teams in the country in Georgia just so the Rose Bowl can have a better matchup. The selection for the second Rose Bowl spot was basically between Missouri, Kansas, West Virginia, Arizona State, and Illinois. The Rose Bowl does not have any reason to pick any of the other four teams available when they could keep the Big Ten/Pac 10 matchup that traditionally draws better than non Big Ten/Pac 10 Rose Bowls.

Wisconsin Accepts Bid to Outback Bowl I thought that these types of bowls would wait until after this weekends games to start inviting teams with the possibility of Illinois getting bumped up to a BCS bowl and everything. I guess since they played in the Capital One Bowl last year this was the best they could do so they took it.

Into the Wild is the best movie I've seen all year. Others that are near the top of my list are American Gangster, 3:10 to Yuma, In the Valley of Elah, Michael Clayton, and Zodiac. I'm going to see No Country for Old Men tonight and I can't wait.

illinois wins 63-55 were up by 23 at one point in the second half. would like to see them finish it off better. randle and alexander can throw down some dunks. mccamey had no shot whatsoever today. the energy chester frazier brings is fun to watch.

agreed that this week's episode was much better than the premiere but the driving into the lake thing was just too ridiculous to be believable.

good first half for the illini. doesn't look like swan will be back in this game which is huge if illinois can continue to shut down the running game on defense. more touches for benn please.

I think it should be a pretty well fought game tomorrow between Mizzou and the Illini. Mizzou's passing attack worries me, especially TE Chase Coffman, but I think the Illini's defense is strong enough to at least keep the running game in check for the most part which would allow them to focus on stopping the pass. Mizzou's defense doesn't impress me too much and I think that they have the opportunity to put up some points. It all depends on how much improvement Juice has made at QB. What I've heard is that he focused all offseason on his passing accuracy and hopefully it shows. Honestly, not wanting to get my hopes up too much, I think Mizzou wins a close one. I expect anywhere from a 5-7 to a 7-5 season from Illinois this year. They have a pretty tough conference schedule, missing out on Michigan St. and Purdue but they should get 3 non-conference wins. There's a lot of hype surrounding the football program at Illinois with the recruiting class Zook has pulled in. Hopefully, they can show some improvement pulling out a few of those games that were close losses last year and no longer be the perennial doormat of the Big 10.
