Can you only write-in one player per league? I just went to the MLB website to vote and I was gonna write-in Ramirez for 2B and Quentin for OF but I only see 1 write-in box at the bottom. Shouldn't there be a way to vote more than 1 person who is not on the ballot? The All-Star Voting system is already as screwed up as it can be and if this game is going to decide who hosts the World Series it needs a serious overhaul...starting with Red Sox/Yankees fans not deciding the lineups.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) I could have done without Tiger acting up after each bad shot. Like he didn't know the cameras would be on him after them, too. I mean give him credit, but I can do without the ridiculous antics. Everyone talks about how great Tiger his and that's true no doubt. He is the greatest of his time and the reason many people watch. Tournament w/ Tiger >>>>>>>>>> Tournament w/o Tiger But no one ever talks about how he acts like a child when he hits a bad shot. I've never understood golfers who do this either. Golf is the one sport where you have no one to blame but yourself. You would think that after playing for 30 years he would be able to restrain himself from throwing his club and yelling like an imbecile when he happens to screw up.

2008 General Election Discussion Thread
The Bones replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) CNN has posted a fun map, showing (in their opinions) what states are safely to one candidate, leaning to one, or a toss up. Here is the map. I personally have to disagree with some of these. My disagreements: ID, KS, NE, TN, AK: I'd call these leaning McCain, not safely McCain WV, AR, LA: I'd call these safely McCain, unless Clinton runs with Obama (then AR is maybe in play) VA: This should be leaning McCain, not toss-up Anyone else have opinions? This all changes of course based on VP choices, debate performance, and other factors that will come up as time goes on. I'm just saying, where they are at right now. http://www.electoral-vote.com/ I followed this site closely back in 2004 and 2006. I may have even gotten the link from someone here. Anyways...once more polls start coming in and it gets closer to the election it's an interesting thing to watch change day to day. -
Hard to choose because a few could be grouped together and a few more could be added but with the choices presented i went with... Iraq War Energy Environment Deficit and National Debt Health Care Ones that are non-issues... Abortion Gay Marriage 2nd Amendment

Just got back from work to discover this news. When I went back to work from lunch Sox were trailing 5-4 but with the way the team has been playing I figured we'd find a way to com back and win it. 6.5 games! Wow! Don't let up boys!

Anyone ever play baseball games with their baseball cards and a pair of dice when they were kids? Pick your players for your teams, set your lineups, and roll the dice to decide the outcome of the game. Certain rolls counting as singles, doubles, homeruns, etc. Anyways it's a game my dad and his brothers used to play as kids and he taught my brother and I how to play and this weekend I taught my nephew how to play. The reason I ask is because I'm trying to tweak the old system that we used to have. I just now realize that there is nothing that counts as a sacrafice fly or a double play and was wondering if anyone had any kind of rules that they go by. Here are the rules that we have always had... 1-6 = Base on Error 2-2 = Double 2-3 = Single, Baserunners Advance 1 Base 2-5 = Single, Baserunners Advance 2 Bases 3-3 = Triple 4-5 = Base on Balls 6-6 = Home Run Everything else is an out. Also, if you wanted to steal a base you announce it before you roll and if the dice rolled add up to less than 7 you are safe, 7 or more and you are out. I'm thinking of making 1-1 a double play. And 4-6 and 5-6 sacrafice flies if the baserunners are on 2nd or 3rd. Also thinking of adding a rule that if you roll a 3-3 you must roll one die and if it is a 1,2, or 3 it's a bases clearing double and only if it's a 4,5, or 6 is it a triple. This game was lots of fun as a kid but I now realize that it's not very realistic. My dad claims they used to have certain rules for things like sac flies but he forgets them. Anyways...anybody have any thoughts on how to improve the game or even know what I'm talking about?

Question: Does tv comedy include only half hour shows or would an hour long show such as freaks & geeks be eligible even though it's not a straight-forward comedy?

"Where would he play?"

Time for a change. Looks good!

Lesbian couple told to stop kissing or leave baseball game http://pageoneq.com/news/2008/lesbians_mariners053008.html I don't know what everyone's thoughts are on this. Obviously it depends on how far it went but if it was just a peck on the lips like they claim I think it's rather stupid for security to get involved. Ever heard of a kiss cam for christ's sake? Anyways I thought this might spark up an interesting discussion obviously but i personally feel that there are many other things that a parent should worry about at a baseball game but two women kissing is not one of them.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 17, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) Anybody have any strategies for finding bands that you like that youve never heard? After going through every avenue to download songs from the bands Ive heard of and becoming curious to find more Ive been trying some new tactics to find new bands I like but have never heard of. Things like looking up the music in tv shows or movies I like, going to billboard.com and so on. Have you tried last.fm or pandora? Those are two I use but I'm sure there are others as well.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 8, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) Anchorman is one of the worse pieces of s*** I've ever seen. I can guarantee there is no freaking way they'll ever doop me into seeing a 2nd version of that crap. Thank you! I am not alone.

Holy s*** that's a lot of road games! Anyways...new background. Thanks!

Nice to see the final result. There's quite a few that I have yet to see so I'll have to get on that. I can't believe I forgot Office Space. My list was kind of a mix between best comedies and funniest movies so I'm not surprised that a few of my selections didn't make the cut. One movie that I never understood all the love for is Anchorman. God did I hate that movie with a passion! I think the only part I laughed at was Jack Black kicking the dog off of the bridge which was hilarious. But god the rest of that movie was just bad and should not be anywhere near the top 50, let alone the top 10.

Is there honestly a need for a 137th Democratic Primary Presidential Debate?

I'll just go ahead and tell everyone that my #1 is The Big Lebowski.

I bought and watched Lars and the Real Girl yesterday. One of my favorite movies from last year. Great performances and very well written. Amazing that they not only pulled off a movie about a guy who falls in love with a sex doll but actually made it a really good film as well. And it wasn't really a laugh out loud type of comedy so don't expect that. There were a few funny moments but it was more dramatic than I originally had expected. Ryan Gosling is really one of the better actors working today. Just watch Lars or Half Nelson for proof.
