  1. QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Crede and Quentin are already picked (even though I wouldn't pick Crede), Linebrink, Dye, and AJ would make 5. Danks?
  2. Really difficult game to watch. I had to turn the channel a few times when we were on defense and nothing was going our way. The big picture though is that we are in 1st place at the All Star Break and I think anyone on this site would have taken a 1.5 game lead at this point in the season if you had offered that back at the beginning of the year. Most people were predicting a 3rd or 4th place finish in the division. Carlos Quentin, who earned his spot on the roster, is an All Star. Floyd and Danks have been stellar. And the bullpen is one of the best in baseball. We have a reason to watch White Sox baseball in the second half of 2008 which is much more than you could say about 2007. I can't wait for Friday to get here.
  3. I really like the new Coldplay album...much better than X&Y. And the new Beck album is growing on me as well.
  4. Which is exactly why is said there is about a .001% chance of it happening.
  5. I'd like to see Favre in a Bears uniform. The Bears would still suck this year but it would be funny to see him play for the team who was his rivals for his entire career. I'd say there's about a .001% chance of that happening though. And anyone who says he should not come back should just shut it. He should play for as long as he feels like and as long as someone pays him.
  6. Where is the "none of the above" option? It's doubtful I will watch more than 1 hour of Olympics coverage.
  7. can someone explain the fighting for those of us listening on radio?
  8. I always wondered about Jesse's collection of little shoes.
  9. It's beginning to feel a lot like 2005. You start to just expect the Sox to pull off the win somehow. Beat the A's!
  10. The wallpaper heroics have already begun.
  11. Amazing win! Imagine how frustrating it must be for Twins fans winning 12 of 14 and still not being able to overtake us. Finally looked like they could pick up a game tonight and with 2 outs we come up with 2 runs to hold our ground. Don't let up! Go for the sweep against CC tomorrow!
  12. standup comedians gets my vote
  13. Could not have asked for a better game to be the first one I attended this year! Great win!

  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) That 70's Show before any other comedy program ever made is kinda sad. fixed
  16. I was thinking with the passing of George Carlin we should do a list for top standup comedians. Maybe not the next list since we just now did tv comedies but just an idea I'm sure there's plenty other good ones we could do.
  17. Hail Satan! I finally sent in my list! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCiTlMrMAhU...feature=related
  18. When's the deadline? I missed the Chicago's Greatest Athletes one. Even had most of the list figured out just never finalized it. I've got quite a few ideas for this one as well but need to double check and make sure I don't leave anything off.
  19. If someone can answer this question I will concede the point. What professional golfer acts out more than Tiger? Be it positive with the multiple fist pumps and spiking of hats onto the ground or negative with the banging of clubs and swearing at himself? He is the Carlos Zambrano/Joba Chamberlain of golf. No other professional golfer even comes near to acting the way he does.
  20. My point is how many other golfers scream and bang their clubs on the ground. I probably watch golf as much as, if not more than, anybody on this board and no other professional golfer acts as outrageously as Tiger does. However, no other golfer is as good as him either. For those of you comparing golf to football and basketball...get real. Golf is supposed to be a gentlemen's sport and you are not supposed to act like that on the course. I could somewhat understand the antics when he was young but he is now in his 30s and hoped he would have grown out of it by now. And believe it or not even Tiger loses more often than he wins so yes I do believe he should be used to defeat by now. And yes I have played golf many times before and it can be without a doubt one of the most frustrating experiences for anyone but I manage to restrain myself from acting like an child w/o cameras in my face and millions of people watching me so I would think he could be able to as well. Also, playing with the types of people who act like Tiger is even worse than having to watch it. It's hard to focus when the other guy is banging clubs around and cussing at himself.
  21. Oh...I totally understand that no Sox are going to be starting...unless it's a pitcher. But I just wanted to do my part and keep Quentin atop the write-in votes list.
