Without reading any of this thread yet and just seeing the title I'm gonna have give this a big no and I'm guessing that I'm not alone. Stone brings so much more to the table than DJ did and I'm so glad that the Sox have him. It's not even that I disliked DJ. I just think Stone is one of the best in the game and I am thankful that the Cubs let him go.

Special thread dedicated to shots at Wise

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 05:50 PM) I'm all for Wise. I like the idea of a bat that can get hot, as he seemed to at times last year. I think that's a more valuable trait than our other options at the position. I don't mind the idea that he can get hot. He obviously can. But he can also go cold for long stretches as well. My problem is him batting leadoff is not what is best for the team. We have multiple better options right now and DeWayne Wise should not be getting the most ABs of anyone on this team. If you want to start him put him in the 9 spot. Uribe's bat could get hot but he was never the leadoff man. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Anyone check out Sugar? I really want to see this. I don't think it's playing in Chicago yet. 90% on RT right now. I'm looking forward to this as well. It was written and directed by the same people who did Half Nelson which was pretty damn awesome. In other movie news, I saw Sunshine Cleaning which I liked. It's kind of a ridiculous premise and a little slow to start but if you go along with it I think it is rewarding. Plus, I could watch Amy Adams and Emily Blunt do pretty much anything for 90 minutes and that includes them cleaning up after dead people.

Couldn't ask for a much more exciting way to start the year. Buehrle battled. Bullpen shut them down. Chris Getz played well. Fields with some big plays defensively and offensively. And of course JIM THOME.

Let's do this! I'd say it's about time for the first ever back-to-back division championships for the Sox. -
But the Big East this year is the greatest collection of basketball teams ever. How can the national champion not be from that conference? The Big East teams obviously were worn down from that brutal conference season playing teams like Rutgers and South Florida night after night.

New out of town scoreboard looks great but is there enough room for 14 games on there?

The thing about Funny People is that it looks like it gives too much of the story away in the trailer. Though it does seem like more of a dramatic comedy than some previous Apatow movies which I think could be very interesting. BTW...Apatow had nothing to do with I Love You, Man and I like almost everything (other than Anchorman) he has produced more than I Love You, Man.

Surprised no one has mentioned Wisconsin's OT win over FSU yet. Second best game of the tournament so far behind tOSU and Siena's double OT thriller. Last night was damn entertaining.

I need Villanova over UCLA or my bracket is toast. I'm hoping the Big Ten gets 2 wins today but would settle for 1. They've got a couple of tough matchups. I'm also hoping that Duke goes down hard. -
I saw I Love You, Man last night. It was alright. You know what to expect if you've seen the trailer. I didn't like it as much as the "Apatow" comedies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Pineapple Express but it had its moments. Paul Rudd gives a good performance.

A question for other Illinois fans like myself. Why didn't Illinois press more? They've had success with it previously (Northwestern). I've tried to forget about this loss by saying WKU was just the better team and I think they were in the first half when they were hitting their shots. But the way Illinois played in the last 5 minutes leads me to believe that this could have been a win for Illinois. If they had put it on for a few minutes in the first half to throw WKU's rhythm off it might have helped. It seems Bruce is sometimes too stubborn to change things up and won't use it until desperation time when it was too late. Oh well, we have good recruits coming in the next few years and we certainly exceeded my expectations this year. It's just tough for a program like Illinois to go three straight years without winning a game in the NCAA Tournament...especially when we had 2 games that were very winnable. Hopefully, we see Chester in some type of assistant role soon. I was really hoping they could win for him...such a tough way for him to go out. -

You heard it here first. Jimbo's Drinker guarantees an Elite 8 run for the Jayhawks. -
Damn. First, I pick VCU and they lose by one point and now Utah State, the other 11 seed I picked, loses by one. I know it was a pointless 3 at the end but still.

If the committee has any sense of humor they will match up Kansas against the Binghamton Bearcats in the first round. -
Ugh...I was at the BTT on Saturday and it's hard to say who shot worse Illinois or Michigan St. I mean Illinois was ugly but we've seen that from them before. MSU was 3-21 from 3-point range. Just two really bad shooting performances back-to-back. I think Illinois is anywhere from a 5 to 7 seed. It depends how much they take into account Frazier's injury and yesterday's abysmal performance. I would be shocked if they are an 8 seed or worse.
-
This is unreal.
-
Michigan doing whatever they want against Iowa. They're up 21 at halftime. I really expected Iowa to put up a better fight than this. Anyways, the Big Ten bubble teams doing well so far. Illinois is gonna have a tough game against Michigan, especially if Frazier isn't available to guard Harris.
-
Well I guess we can stop this talk about Kansas getting a 1 seed. Will they even get a 2 seed now?

QUOTE (The Bones @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 01:10 PM) Baylor up 7 on Kansas under 4 minutes left. Now only up 1 with under 2 minutes left.
