Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson are two of my favorite directors currently. Only people I would put them behind would probably be the Coen Brothers. Quentin's Films 1) Pulp Fiction 2) Reservoir Dogs 3) Inglorious Basterds (may move ahead of Reservoir Dogs with more viewings) 4) Kill Bill Vol. 2 5) Kill Bill Vol. 1 6) Death Proof 7) Jackie Brown Wes's Films 1) Rushmore 2) The Royal Tenenbaums 3) The Life Aquatic 4) Bottle Rocket 5) The Darjeeling Limited I don't think either has done a bad film yet. I'd like to see what other fans and non-fans think because I'm sure everyone's list would be different.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) I just got back from Inglourious Basterds. Roger Ebert probably summed it up best. I came away not really knowing why I liked it, but I think I did (and it'll probably get better the more I see it). Some things about it, though: -The "basterds" weren't in it that much -Christoph Waltz definitely stole the show -There was much less action and violence than I expected, which was disappointing I liked it too and it's one of those movies for me where the more I think about it, the more I want to see it again. I agree that Waltz was excellent but Melanie Laurent was right there with him. Both deserve some serious awards consideration this year. I guess there was less action/violence than normal for a Tarantino movie but there was still plenty to keep me entertained and into it. In fact, the highlights for me were the quiet/tense moments such as the opening scene and the scene in the restaurant with Shosanna and Landa.

We can't go 11-0 on this road trip if we don't win tonight. Let's do this! -

Tiger doesn't win a major for the first time when leading after 54 holes! Congrats to Y.E. Yang who becomes the first ever Asian-born player to win a major. Really fun to watch today.

I understand that what Vick did was wrong, sickening, despicable, heinous, stupid, whatever else you want to say about it and I could never in a million years even be capable of being a part of something like that. What I don't get is how people are so angry at him for this. He's done his time. He pretty much lost everything. Now, he has a chance to move on with his life in a positive way. Anyways, I'm done arguing his case. People who want to boo him can and will. I don't know what exactly they're trying to accomplish because I think everyone, including Mike Vick, knows what he did was wrong.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) He can breed his own killer pit-bulls and sacrifice 'em for all I care, but when you go around stealing pets, then it's a different story altogether. Someone is arguing this.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) If you never owned a dog, then you wouldn't understand. They become members of your family. To think that a scumbag like Vick oversaw/co-signed the kidnapping of family dogs is what sickens me more than anything else. He can breed his own killer pit-bulls and sacrifice 'em for all I care, but when you go around stealing pets, then it's a different story altogether. Think about that lonely old lady who depends on her dog for companionship, or that little kid who will never get to see his labrador again because Vick needed sacrificial lambs. Vick is a devil, son. Lend your support to someone else. So now kidnapping is a bigger crime than murder. Please continue because I'm really interested in this new line of thinking. I had a dog from the time I was two years old until I was in high school and yes I was sad when she died but it is not comparable to a human being in the least.

I hope everyone here who is disgusted with Michael Vick is vegetarian. If not then I would like someone to explain how it is okay for animals to suffer in one case but not another. And spare me the "one is for food and the other is recreation" bulls*** because we eat meat not out of necessity but because it tastes good.

I recently saw (500) Days of Summer and Moon. Two of my favorite movies of the year so far.

What would you like to see in Fantasy Football?
The Bones replied to knightni's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) Team Defense. No individual defensive players This and no PPR and Head-to-Head. -
QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) I really hope not. Quentin was a RF before he came to the white sox. I'm sure he can still play it. LF is Pods position. He is pretty bad in center... Rios is a lot more valuable in CF too... Rios in center just seems like the logical thing to do. Since when does Ozzie do the logical thing? He's right. Ozzie doesn't like moving guys around so I would guess Quentin stays in LF.

I'll give it a go this year.

Hell Yes!

No way Nix starts over Alexei at SS nor should he but I do like Beckham in the 2 hole from here on out. Hopefully Alexei will hit for more power lower in the order.
-
Thanks! I'm looking forward to it.

I'm lost without it. Help me knightni. You're my only hope.

Sox Acquire Jake Peavy for Richard, Poreda, Russell, Carter
The Bones replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
wtf...under the radar. This is great news! Even if it doesn't help this year we are looking good in 2010 and 2011. -
Early in the season I would complain that every game for the Sox (win or lose) was a blowout. Oh, how I long for those days. I can't take this s*** much longer. Floyd was magnificent! We desperately need to get the bats going though.
