So, I'm all caught up now. Wow! Can't wait for next season. Feels weird not watching any Lost for the last week or so because I've been watching for a few months straight. I kinda want to go back and watch all 5 seasons again because I probably forgot so many things and I would be able to catch some things I missed with a second viewing.

Keeping Adam Yauch in my thoughts lately, so I'll share one of my favorites of his from "Professor Booty". So many wack MC's you get the TV bozack Ain't even gonna call out your names 'cause you're so wack But one big oaf whose faker than plastic A dictionary definition of the word spastic You should have never started something that you couldn't finish 'Cause writin' rhymes to me is like Popeye to spinach I'm bad ass move your fat ass 'cause you're wack son Dancin' around like you think you're Janet Jackson Thought you could walk on me to get some ground to walk on I'll put the rug out under your ass as I talk on I'll take you out like a sniper on a roof Like an MC at the fever in the DJ booth With your headphones strapped you're rockin' rewind pause Tryin' to figure out what you can do to go for yours But like the pencil to the paper I got more to come One after another you can all get some So you better take your time and meditate on your rhyme 'Cause your s***'ll be stinkin' when I go for mine And that's right y'all don't get uptight y'all You can't say s*** because you're biting what I write y'all And that's wrong y'all over the long haul You can't cut the mustard when you're fronting it all

As long as we're sending out pm's, I wouldn't necessarily mind if one were to come my way.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
The Bones replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Simply unbelievable! I'm pretty sure I yelled just as loud, if not louder, when Wise made his catch as when Anderson caught the final out in game 163 last year. Congrats to Mark Buehrle!!! And good game by everyone in a White Sox uniform backing him up. -
Tom Watson "you're f***ing out!" That was tough to watch but it was nice to see Cink win his first major. He earned it.

Back to the Future It's a movie I watched so much as a kid and it's still one of my favorite movies today.

White Sox Cooperstown caps. I have recently expanded this to include other teams as well. I have Chicago American Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Montreal Expos, and Milwaukee Brewers so far.

Saw Bruno and holy s*** Sacha Baron Cohen took it to a whole new level. Not gonna say it was funnier than Borat but about the same. It is much more daring and bolder than Borat. There were moments where he had to honestly be scared for his life or at least his physical well-being.

7/8 Game Thread Sox vs. Cleveland 7:11pmCDT WCIU
The Bones replied to knightni's topic in 2009 Season in Review
I wish we could play Cleveland every game. -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) The only celebrity death that would affect me would be Dane Cook. I'll be so happy when that day comes. That gave me a good laugh.

I could do without Hawk calling Stone "Stone Pony" and "Charlie" every inning though.

HELL YES I love it!

For what its worth, I liked The Reader better than at least 2 of the other nominated films (Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon). It wasn't great or anything and there were movies that weren't nominated that were better but that's the academy for ya. And anyone who says it's about the Holocaust didn't see the same movie that I did. There's maybe one scene in it that gets overly sentimental about the topic.

Here's my breakdown of a few movies I've seen recently... Year One - 2/5 It has a few funny moments but too many piss and poo jokes for my liking. David Cross was the best part of this movie and the only reason it wasn't a total waste. I actually preferred Land of the Lost, even with its terribly unfunny final act, to this. Public Enemies - 3/5 Starts out slow and never really develops its characters into anything worth caring about but at least it gets more entertaining as it goes along. Good popcorn flick but not really worth seeing more than once. I previously predicted that this would get a best picture nomination before I saw it but now I'm pretty sure it won't. Two Lovers - 3.5/5 One of my favorites of the year so far. Joaquin Phoenix gives a terrific performance alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw. The way the film is shot gives a dark, cold feel to it which is perfect for a film set in Brooklyn during the winter. The story is simple and the movie moves at somewhat of a slow pace but the performances carry it and kept me interested in the characters up to the very end.

QUOTE (NIUSox @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 12:30 AM) I saw Public Enemies tonight and I thought it was excellent. Bale and Depp were both very good. I love movies set in that time era and they did a great job with this one. BTW Bones I rewatched "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" last night just because of your sig. I forgot just how great all the performances in that movie were. Good to know that my signature inspired something positive...haha. I can't say enough good things about that movie. The performances, the pace, the scenery, the music, everything is just perfect. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) They're making it 10 categories now? That's stupid. I would prefer a movie or two to get snubbed each year than to have a few completely undeserving movies get nominated each time. Also, RIP Karl Malden. I think he deserves some attention amidst all of the crying for a scumbag pedophile. As for the 10 nominees next year, I'm still undecided about that. Could be good, could be bad, but it will probably be meaningless in the end. On average, I'd say the Academy usually picks 3 worthy nominees and a couple of...well let's just say uninspired choices. There will still be the favorites and I doubt this will have any affect on what movie wins. Although, maybe now that people know there are 10 they will vote for things they wouldn't before because they didn't think they had a chance. Ultimately, it seems to be just a ploy to get more people to watch the Oscars. I'm guessing it'll be the same kind of movies as usual just 5 more of them.

Very nice work. Thanks.

I haven't seen it yet but I'm guessing Public Enemies will be nominated for Best Picture. But then again with 10 nominees this year what won't be nominated?
-
Thanks guys. I probably will have to find a way to watch Season 5 before it comes out on dvd because I want to be caught up with everyone else. Last night, I watched the episode where the guys from Widmore's freighter attack the island and kill Alex. In the flash forward, Ben somehow ends up in Tunisia mysteriously and eventually meets Widmore in the final scene and says he will kill Penelope. Interesting.

So...I'm pretty much new to this whole Lost phenomenon but I started watching from the beginning earlier this year. I'm about halfway through Season 4 right now and I have to say this is my favorite season so far. Sayid is probably my favorite character that's been around since the beginning. I also like Desmond and Daniel Faraday seems interesting in the short time that I've seen him. The thing that sucks is I'm probably gonna have to wait until December to see Season 5 when it comes out on dvd. Then, I'll have to catch up really quick so I can watch the final season when it airs next year. Anyways, I'm trying to avoid any spoilers so I've only read the first 24 pages of this thread and I'll continue to read everyone's reactions as I work my way through each episode.
