  1. if he had stayed in baseball, i suspect he would have been in AAA in 1995, with a chance to crack the big league club that fall or in 1996. jerry would have loved to sell season ticket packhages with MJ's face on the schedule and media guide.
  2. Jerry said back in 2003 he thought Jordan would be a fourth outfielder type if he stayed. But Jerry also wanted Jordan to cross a picket line during the strike in 1995. So that killed any chance of Jordan playing in the league. That said, other baseball types including his AA manager Terry Francona said he would have made it. But no prediction on high the ceiling on him was.
  3. that's BS. they were charging MUCH more for CSN/NBCsn before you even factor in marquee.
  4. and now it's back to rabbit ears and less than 20k viewers.
  5. what a crock of s%*#
  6. and how did you solve the audio only problem?
  7. Who is using a tube/SD tv in 2024? And if they were, they'd already know that they'd need a cable or satellite receiver to process digital signals, or a converter box for OTA. the feds spent a ton of money subsidizing DTV converter boxes back in 2009-2010. FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. sides, you can buy a 40 inch tv now for around $100. When i got my 42 inch LG top of the line tv in 2007, it was $1600.
  8. yes. out of market games are carried on mlb.tv. in his case, ALL CHSN games will be on mlb.tv
  9. or...just make a deal with cable and streaming partners.
  10. johnson wants to use other people's money, a la the hotel tax. same as his bears quest.
  11. Harry worked until his death. He died before the 1998 season, when chip was coming into the booth to be his eventual replacement. The plan was for him to work less games eventually but 1998 was supposed to be a three man booth(as Harry still popped into the radio booth to call a few innings with santo). people forget, but chip carrey took a lot of crap as the Cub announcer. It’s not his fault he had to replace not only a legend, but his grandfather. I thought him and stone were a good team.
  12. Beckham is hot garbage.
  13. It was stupid on Facebook, and it was stupid here.
  14. Marquee’s contract expires Monday
  15. Sounds like Comcast (the cable company) will still be charging the sports fee despite them not carrying a sports channel. We currently pay $14.95 a month for NBCsn and Marquee.
  16. he only has a guaranteed contract for one more year. 26-27 are team options. it's on him to produce "now". not counting 2020, he has been hurt in every full season in the majors, and has only ONE "good" year.
  17. go bleep yourself
  18. go beyond the insular walls of a message board, and you get a LOT of "just go to nashville already" comments.
  19. you know what is happening in Oakland wasn't above board at all.
  20. Move a team into a market ripe for expansion.
  21. The cubs would fight tooth and nail to claim Chicago for itself the Sox moved. this isn’t 1975 anymore.
  22. Joe ricketts would block any team coming to chicago if the sox move.
  23. but john fisher can do that with vegas?
