  1. You’d only see something if they sold out of FSE(full season equivalent) tickets. And they haven’t done that since 2006
  2. Three possible outcomes: 1. espn/Disney buys back the RSNs below what they sold for. And we see them migrate to espn local networks. 2. FOX rebuys the RSN network below what they sold to Disney. And go back To fox sports insert name here. 3. MLB buys the RSNs and rebrands.
  3. The trump tax laws have greatly decreased cap gains as well as inheritance taxes. Jerry wins no matter what, but the win will be bigger after he passes, as his family would only face taxes on the portion he actually owns.
  4. Jerry answers to the board, but has operational control. This is per his contract dating back to 1981, when he owned 5 percent of the team.
  5. I don’t know what the $ was, but yes. The Sox deal with GR is less than what wintrust offered. again, the actual naming rights money doesn’t go to the Sox. It pays for the 2003-2008 renovations that gave us the name US Cellular Field. That original deal would have ended in 2026, but the Sox and ISFA agreed to a three year extension(with another non guaranteed year in 2030), to make the moving parts work. The payments go toward the bonds issued in 2003. the deal that the Sox care about is sponsorship above that naming rights deal. And brooks hooked his brother in law’s employer up.
  6. Normally I’d say don’t trust anything from barstool sports, but that is 1000% correct. Wintrust offered money for the naming rights and wanted to resurrect the comiskey name. BUT, that money would go to ISFA and not the Sox. Wintrust did make a separate sponsorship offer that was also more than GR’s offer. That would have made them the full banking partner of the Sox. Where GR would just the the loan sponsor. both offers were rejected by the Sox in favor of GR, where brooks voter’s brother in law was an executive.
  7. We don’t know his current stake, but he put down $1 million of the 20 needed to buy the club in 1981. So he owns “at least” 5 percent. his CONTRACT as chairman give him controlling power over the club. He answer to the board but has final say.
  8. The Florida suncoast dome was under construction.
  9. Tampa certainly wanted them. They built a stadium for them. The Sox are at 35th and shields still because Harold Washington and Jim Thompson brokered a deal that if the state paid for a stadium the only site would be 35th and shields (or within that footprint). there was lots of talk about the south loop or even the west loop, but the only proposal that reached a vote was Addison. And that measure lost.
  10. No joke, how’s the Disney thing working out for you? The mouse makes things look good, but I’m afraid it’s just a timeshare scheme.
  11. I’m pretty sure benetti has an agent when he did his fox and peacock deals. I would recommend that he uses that agent with the Sox, no matter what brooks’ lying ass says about how these guys are like family.
  12. Cleveland reworked thier lease. The original 30 yease was set to expire this year, but it was turned into a 15 year deal that started in 2021. With an option for another ten years at the same terms. sox have seven years(including this one) of their deal set to expire in 2029. That was extended when they changed the parks name. 2030 is a buffer year that the Sox have the right to enact. The naming rights deal expires in 2030 with or without the Sox.
  13. To be fair, they fleeced taxpayers for &200 million and have a short term lease where they can get a new park in 15 years.
  14. 516 had seats. It’s 514 and 518 that have handicapped stalls. My brother had seats in 516 row 2 for years.
  15. With the upcoming labor battle, I doubt the Sox move on any players with big price tags. If anything they try and get guys with 1-2 years of control at a discount.
  16. paul konerko stayed in Chicago because they offered him 60 million dollars. not because he dedicated himself to Chicago and its fans. and in 2005, he was still under team control and had no choice but to play for chicago.
  17. Cobb would still be a first ballot guy. Especially since his “reputation” is more or less bullshit.
  18. Which design? Addison? Pinelas County, Florida?
