  1. The plan is for metra and Cta to have a hub at 15th st. Roosevelt is too far
  2. The state refinances the debt frequently and rolls in newer costs in the bonds. the original sox park project,’soldier field, the 2003-2009 renovations, and any current rehab projects are all one bond now.
  3. Yeah but that’s in a vacuum. In the sox, he would have been overseen by idiots like Getz
  4. Rome is 7 hours ahead of Chicago. Which means the only games he can watch live are day games here. And ironically, that means he has less Sox games to potentially watch than the cubs!
  5. Ishiba is not going to fire Getz in nine years.
  6. the ticketmaster inventory was sold out. but, it seems, plenty of scalpers wanted to cash in on a $5 ticket.
  7. like he didn't get a team ball from st. rita alum ed farmer back in 06.
  8. Renteria was such a 180 from Ventura in so many areas. I think his absence is still being felt,
  9. This organization has hired ken harrelson, ed farmer, and connor mcknight to call games in the past. Let' be real here. Schriffen is not nearly as bad as you think. I've heard hm speak off air, and he's engaging and fun. i think the rhythm of PBP isn't letting him get as much of himself out there as we'd like.
  10. i find it funny that stadium's feed has no issues OTA but i never could watch more than 3 minutes of a sox game due to the signal crapping out.
  11. the fanbase will be just fine. it survived the total removal of the dan ryan expressway and it's reconstruction 2.9 million fans somehow made it to the park without a superhighway in 2006, and 2.6ish in 2007. ya wanna know why? because they recently won a world series, and winning cures most problems, even temporarily.
  12. in all likelihood, tatis would have been an epic flop. just like moncada, robert, jimenez, et al....
  13. i think the sox, especially hahn, figured they were hoodwinked very early after that trade, as tatis suddenly was jumping up the padres board. i still think the padres always wanted him, but thanks to them overspending on international players were handcuffed to even offer him what the sox did. but kenny always listens for the siren call of "established vet already signed" and rolled the dice. I'm convinced more now than in 2016 that this is what happened. especially when you factor in this front office was even more stupid than led to believe. And the conspiracy theory that the rebuild was just to remove bad actors from the team seems slightly more believable because rick jumped on the "we shouldn't have traded tatis" bandwagon early.
  14. the hope is that chicago and the state open up infrastructure funds to solve those problems. as well as build a cta/metra station at 15th and clark. that cost may be greater than what mansueto is paying for his minor league soccer park.
  15. comcast is selling off their cable networks. same as warner bros. you guys are confusing the not comcast owned CHSN for xfinity. xfinity wants the money from subscribers. they don't care about growth. They gave CHSN the money they asked for to hold off contraction. and then put CHSN on the highest tier.
  16. MLS is minor league soccer. And a retirement league for aging stars looking for a big payday. You think Mesi is here to grow the sport?
  17. it's not helping matters. the site is not optimal, which is why it's owner/developer has been pushing stadiums on it. it was supposed to be an honest to god neighborhood filled with million dollar homes when related midwest got their hands on it. there's a reason it sat for over 50 years.
  18. It’s really the best thing for the club. No matter who owns it. a 15 year extension benefits both sides. Gives them time to plan the next park properly and figure out how to pay for it.
  19. Soldier field hosts events beyond the bears. AC/DC and beyonce literally played multiple shows last week there. the facility rental, and taxes collected from admissions, concessions, and march is not insignificant. And then there’s the parking on city owned lots. Soldier field is not getting torn down after the last bears game there. yes there would be no “rent” but also the bonds would be paid off. So the largest cost is gone.
  20. we were living in the carrot times
