2017 NFL off season thread
LittleHurt05 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) Here is a thought, just slap me hard in the face once you are done reading, is it possible the Bears could actually trade for Brady with the number 3 and then some? The Pats have always been proactive and it would immediately legitimize the Bears team. I know, slap me. Was this before or after Bob Kraft announced that Brady wants to play 6 or 7 more seasons? -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) I haven't read up on this at all yet today but I had a buddy tell me that they might try and make the UNLV stadium NFL ready and that could be good to go by 2019? QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) But they'll likely be playing at UNLV for 2019 Gotcha. I had thought they couldn't play there since they aren't using it the next two years. If it isn't ready in 2019, then the next Bears trip wouldn't be until 2027. -
QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 09:55 PM) I feel like this happens every year during a Cup season. They build a lead in the Western Conference, play out of their mind, then take some time off and coast until things get real in the playoffs. Yeah, not really concerned. In fact, it's good this is happening now instead of 3 weeks from now. You know they weren't gonna just keep cruising until June.

Raiders officially moving to Las Vegas. But still will play in Oakland in 2017 and 2018. That attendance will be huge. Then they aren't sure where they will play in 2019 yet. -
Columbus is having the best season in their franchise hisotry, but are gonna get royally screwed by the new playoff format. They are the 2nd in the league in points, but will have to face the 3rd highest team in round 1, then likely the best team in round 2.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 26, 2017 -> 12:17 PM) So it turns out that Trump handed Merkel a NATO invoice for $374 billion dollars during her visit. What a despicable conman and an embarrassment to the US. Laugh all you want but he just solved the national debt problem. Once all those countries promptly pay those invoices in full, there will be money for everyone. Businessman of the century.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 15, 2017 -> 07:31 AM) Bananas is the best man. He just continually does these things and it always works. I couldn't believe they let him do that last night. Nobody even questioned him, when it seemed so obvious that going a 2nd time can improve your personal time to get 1st. Darrel is so awesome though.

Pretty impressive how Gonzaga has turned itself into a legit major program from nothing. Butler has done the same thing, Wichita is almost there, but their seeding shows they have a way to go still.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) After seeing him choke again last night I would want him gone if I was Arizona. Careful what you wish for Arizona, the tournament upsets suck, but not any coach can consistently win 30 games every year -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) did anyone see Crosby slash a guy last night and pretty much cut the top of his finger off? Pretty gnarly, and Crosby acted like a b**** about it (surprise surprise) That comes a few days after he Draymond Green'd one of the Sabres with his stick.

Kind of a big game for the US tonight, if they don't get the 3 points, it's officially time freak out about missing the WC. Hopefully Arena can straighten them out, despite all the players missing.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 08:52 PM) Turns out Trump was right on this one. Shocked no one posted it. Not a Trump fan myself, but if you're going to rip him for something you thought he was wrong about, call it both ways. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/03/23/us/jc...mb-threats.html ***cough cough*** Post #2551

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 07:05 PM) Trump done negotiating, demands vote tomorrow, will move on from healthcare entirely if it fails https://twitter.com/BresPolitico/status/845058159517585409 The world's greatest businessman hard at work. Or is it the people's President fighting for what's right? Such a puppet...

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 02:07 PM) There currently no work requirements for Medicaid. You can stay on it as long as you're poor enough to qualify. The AHCA introduces work requirements to Medicaid (among many other terrible and damaging changes). That means if you're on Medicaid and you lose your job, you also get to lose your health insurance. Or, if you're pregnant and not working, you also get to lose your coverage shortly after giving birth. edit: for a pretty good example of the harm work requirements can cause, check out what the end result of the 1990's welfare reforms were when the economy collapsed in 2008. Lots of harm, no real benefits. Gotcha, thanks. But hey, they just have to plan ahead now. It can't be that hard to find a job while 6 months pregnant, isn't that every employer's favorite demographic?
-
Is there a Medicaid program only for pregnant women? How long do they get to stay on now?
