What type of baseball player would you be?
whitesoxbrian replied to DaTank's topic in The Diamond Club
Someone beat me to it- limited power, good contact, good eye, probably would hit 2, 6, or 7. -

Leftwich to Tampa -
I always used to wear this too.
-
I'll be in my typical Bears 2008 sideline winter hat and my Bears "Belichick" hoody. I've been wearing that hoody for 3 years and that hat since last (before it was this plain Bears winter hat) year. Then again, maybe it is time for some new luck?

Not being able to see? Really? Quentin saw Humber's pitch pretty well to hit in the bullpen.

I'm still in shock on how good Colon looked.

I can't wait for the playoffs. Having work Thursday means I can't go to game 1, but I'll definitley be at game 2. Can't wait. -
Beckham doesn't try to hit HR's. He can bunt. He's a smart hitter. So...he doesn't fit in.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) To everybody who said they want to see Alaska, I highly recommend it. I spent two weeks there last year. Flew into Anchorage and hitchhiked around the Kenai Penninsula. We got there on the first day of summer so it never really got dark. We hiked on a glacier, kayaked in the ocean where we see whales surfacing, watched salmon spawn, had bald eagles fly right over my head, saw moose walking right through town, encounterd 4 bears in the wild including a grizzly from about 25' away. Oh my god, it was incredible, writing about it makes me want to get back there as soon as possible. I'm not sure how much I would like the winters, but the summer was amazing and I only saw a small part of the state. I went on a cruise 2 summers ago and it was awesome. Our ports were Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria (which is in Canada). It's like a whole different world up there. Everything is so clean. Juneau was great but Skagway was unreal. I saw glaciers, whales, bears, moose, and seals just randomly while standing out on the balcony going from port to port.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) Honest question: who do you think gives us a better chance if they start a game this year, Contreras or Richard? I'm torn on this. I respect Jose for busting his a** to get back to this point, it has to be Richard. It looks like Jose has no command and his pitches have nothing on them nor movement. -

If Minny holds on and with that fats**t Colon going tomorrow + Liriano for them, this series can't start any worse. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) I probably go with Robiskie based on the level of competition and what I've seen from them. WR's in the MAC are very hit or miss, and Robo was very competitive with already successful NFL WR's when he was a freshman and soph along side of them. One thing you have to know about the MAC is only about maybe half of the teams actually play defense. Delmas is a FS, not a WR. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) Homerism alert Ohio State has produced some damn good WR's over the last few years. Robo wouldnt be a bad pick for them if he falls. If Delmas and Robiskie are there, who do you go with? I'm hoping we get Holt so we aren't stuck at this point. If we get Holt, Delmas is the easy choice. Hell, even by getting Holt that means we don't have to go WR until round 4, and instead go DE then FS or vice versa in rounds 2 and 3. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Please tell me you're kidding. When was the last time Marshall produced a good WR before Moss? Looking at one's school is not the best way to evaluate talent. I'd say bringing the kid in for a couple workouts is more effective than labeling him and overlooking his talent because he went to Georgia. I agree with you...except I agree with him when talking about Florida. The best WR they've ever produced is Cris Collinsworth and now they run a spread offense where running routes correctly isn't that big of a need. Atleast now, Georgia runs a pro style offense and he had a QB there who threw the hell out of the ball in Stafford like he could have here in Cutler. -

Dickey is terrible. Let's kick his a**. -
Sorry, but every guy deserves a standing O that was on our 2005 team. Hell, if Timo Perez ever gets back to the big leagues, I'd cheer my ass off for him.

This trading for Cutler thing still hasn't sunk in yet.

Sounds like we love Massaqoui. That's the 2nd time we've put him through a workout, if I'm not mistaken. I watched 3 UGA games last year and he looked like a good WR, but many say that he has bad hands. I wouldn't take him in round 2, but he must be tearing these up since many scouts have him in the 2nd now. I'd much rather have Iglesias. Go with Delmas in round 2 then best WR there in the 3rd. -

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Quentin is not a clogger, I'm not sure why people lump him in with Thome-Dye-Konerko-AJ. I never said he was, but surrounding him with AJ, Thome, Dye, and Konerko does nothing to help the team. I'd put Getz-Alexei-Thome-Quentin as our 1-4 to have a speed guy in front of him and an OBP guy in front of him. -

I love Quentin, and I love this team. But something has to be done with all these cloggers in a row.
