  1. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Viciedo unfortunately, but would Rios play LF without moping? Why not move Avisail to LF. It's not like he's good at defense or anything.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) who ever used their ipod for videos though, that always seemed silly to me I know a few who did, but that was back in like 2005.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:52 AM) You didn't have an alternative in your pocket though. And the Nano was used to provide you two simple lines of text, not recipes, maps, pictures, etc. It did support pictures though. The iPod Classic supported video/pictures and it had a 2 inch screen. And part of the reason for a smart watch is so that you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) It's still going to be a pain to use it for those things though. The screen is just not big enough for practical use IMO. iPod Nanos had 1.5 inch screens when they first came out and I don't remember people telling me it was too small to use. The iPod Classic had a 2 inch screen and people watched videos on that... The Moto 360 has a 1.8 inch screen, FWIW.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) I think the screen size is far too limited for these functions to be any good. Also, voice control *still* sucks in anything but the quietest of environments. I have a mount in my car that holds my phone and basically accomplishes all of that, only with a screensize that's useful. I don't get the smartwatch thing either. Other than for fitness tracking...I don't get it. But you're not mounting the watch 3 feet away from you. It'll be on your wrist. You're also not going to look at the watch's screen in your car, nor should you. I think you guys are underestimating how big the screen on that watch actually is. Of all the videos I've seen, it looks huge (the screen that is) for something that's on your wrist.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:29 AM) For the 2% of the population that downloads files that big, maybe. But even then, is it worth an extra $50/month to gain like 5 minutes of wait time to download a big file? I'm not saying that at some point that kind of speed will be nice to have. But right now? No way, not for the additional cost. I have 24MB/s and it's more than enough for downloading big files, streaming movies, playing games, etc. Files will be that big though, they already are. People who download games on Steam, next-gen consoles need fast internet connections or they'll end up waiting forever.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:30 AM) That does look nice, but I still don't get the need for a smartwatch. Reach into your pocket and pull out your phone. It's not that far away... It's great for when you're in the car or can't use your hands. You can text someone just by saying "OK Google, text so and so". You can also use it for navigation (for when you walk or bike), get notifications at a glance, and there's apps that have special functions just for the watch (like a recipe app allowing you to view recipes step by step on the watch). It's an area that's yet to be fully developed and I think there's a use for it.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) Oh, had no idea...then meh. A watch with only 2.5 days of battery life is a useless piece of s***. Watches need battery life that lasts weeks, if not a full month on single charge, and that will include Apple's if/when they release one. That's assuming people wear their watches 24/7, which they don't. You gotta take it off sometime. If getting a full charge is as easy as taking it off and putting it on a Qi wireless charger on your night-stand once every 2 days, then people have nothing to complain about. It's also the best looking smartwatch available by far.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) 100 mbps seems like overkill. What kind of content would require that speed? No speed is ever overkill. 100 mbps can get you around 13 MB/s. You can download a 1 GB file in about a minute and a half. I don't see how you can complain about faster download speeds...
  10. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 09:58 AM) Aren't the days of caring how long a phone lasts over? You can buy Mophie juice packs (or others) that are basically like adding a case to your phone and they add a 2100mah battery in addition to whatever's in your phone already. For people that insist on using a case on their phone, they're nearly no brainers. I still won't use a case on my phones, but I have chargers everywhere. I've never once run out of juice. It's not a phone...? It's a smart watch.
  11. Moto 360 will have wireless charging and will last as long as 2.5 days. I just want to throw my money at it.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 05:29 PM) Bears worked out Santonio Holmes. He wouldn't be bad as a 3rd WR.
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 08:10 PM) I really felt Barca should've went after Di Maria as opposed to Suarez so he could help setup Neymar and Messi. They're thinking of going away from the 4-3-3 they've been playing to a 3-2-3-2, where they'd play 2 CBs and 1 LB/RB in the back, two defensive midfielders (one of them might be Mascherano), a CM flanked by two fast wings and two strikers (Neymar/Messi and Suarez). It looks like Barca will also get Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina instead of ManU, so he will probably be one of the two wings (he's got great speed) along with Pedro. Barcelona's setup is definitely weird, but you have to wonder if all those offensive players on Real Madrid can co-exist. It'll also be interesting to see how Messi does this year after somewhat of a down year for him last year.
  14. lol Adam Dunn pitched? Hilarious.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 11:23 AM) Sale has the better record, WHIP, more complete games, walks less people, gives up less hits, doesn't throw a s*** ton of wild pitches. Felix has the better ER numbers, strikes out slightly more, and has pitched 7 more starts due to Sale's DL trip. There's certainly an argument to be made for Sale but the numbers are all very close except for starts made. That matters.
  16. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) I don't think there's much of an argument that Sale is better than Felix at the moment. Agreed. Felix has been the best pitcher in the AL this year and if it wasn't for Kershaw, he'd be the best pitcher in baseball.
  17. Alex Rios: the player who nobody actually wanted. :\
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:25 AM) Tyler Flowers is so good it's scary. He has hit some of the hardest balls since the 1977 South Side Hitmen. That line drive homer tonight was scary. That blast over the foul pole last homestand that was barely foul would have been a legendary blast. That cannon off the second deck, I think it was in Minnie, was also Babe Ruth-like. Kudos to Flowers for indeed flipping the bird at all of us. This post would have looked completely different a month ago. Try not to get too excited Greg...
  19. We'll need to wait and see. All I know is, since he's started wearing his glasses, his BABIP is way higher than .380 (closer to .400). He's got a .607 BABIP since the ASB. It could be luck or it could be a real improvement.
  20. So there was a rumor that Real Madrid was going after Falcao. It seems like they're just spending money for the hell of it at this point.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 09:57 AM) No specific contract details yet, but the Bengals just gave Andy Dalton a whole lot of money. Another typical QB quandary in the NFL. You aren't sure if he's good enough to win it all, but you are too worried about replacing him to let him go. I wonder if irrational Bengals fans hate Dalton more than irrational Bears fans hate Cutler. But then again, Dalton's done nothing but choke for the Bengals in the playoffs. Cutler at least won a game.
  22. Nice rally in the 8th.
  23. Windhorst just said the base of the basket is closer on that court than it is on NBA courts.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) Pssh, no. It's a broken leg. Fractures recover in 4-5 months, then the question is what's the rehab time. I'm sure he'll take the year to be safe. Kevin Ware's fracture was worse and he was ready by the next season.
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 09:47 PM) Cancel the whole stupid tournament. Get all the paid players off the court for these stupid games. What sucked the most is that this was a scrimmage...
