NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 10:49 PM) Nene gonna be suspended 1 game? Probably not. You gotta wonder what Jimmy said to him to make him do what he did. Or maybe Nene's just crazy.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) If Mike Dunleavy was in the game instead of Hinrich in the last 5 minutes of game 2 we would be up 2 games to one I don't doubt it.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
Mike Dunleavy had the game of his life and we still barely won. Unbelievable. That said, it was nice to have Jimmy deliver the dagger after Nene tried to choke him.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) No, our league uses quick scores for schedules and results, but that is it. We keep our own stats on league lineup, it's pretty tidy and free Buffalo Grove uses league lineup for their leagues though, which is pretty cool Do you just have a guy designated to keep score?

SSS looks at Viciedo's start
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) 34% O-Swing! If he keeps that up, I'll fly in to Chicago and have a session on the upper concourse where you guys can all stone me for hating on him so hard. Still waiting for the other shoe to fall, though. Hope he proves me wrong. Eminor3rd stoning! Count me in.

White Sox claim P Hector Noesi off waivers
Haha. Score 7 runs on him to get him DFA'd, then pick him up. Brilliant.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) Yeah, well what's your wRC+? That's all I care about. I actually keep my stats. It makes the somewhat mundane games of league night a bit more interesting. In 44 games this year, I'm at .634/.642/.993 for a 1.635 OPS over 151 plate apperances. I'd like to be closer to .700, but I've been struggling a bit lately. That's a .706 wOBA if you calculate it with SLG and OBP. It's a rough estimation that isn't accurate since the run environments of professional baseball and ASA softball are worlds off, but it's nice to know for fun.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 09:53 AM) The Juggernaut is pretty fun, we have a few Jeff Halls on our team too. Those things can send it I have the brand new one, 26 oz. I wish I would have gotten the 27 since it's more end-loaded. A couple of the guys on my teams have J3s at 27 and I hit with so much more power with that bat. All of the home runs I've hit this year (currently at 8) have been with either the J3 or 2014 Juggernaut.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:49 PM) ASA I am pretty sure. If you want a good bat, you should be ready to drop at least $150. Always buy composite. My personal favorites: Any Demarini bat (specifically any Juggernaut), Louisville Slugger Z2000, Combat Derby Boys. All of those will cost you $200+ though, but they're worth it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:41 PM) I play 16 so maybe they think it's overkill? It's definitely strategy since teams adjust and you have to as well. The men's league I play in has a fence (UIC) and it gets a little boring to be honest. How often do fielders make errors in 16 inch? I have to imagine that there'd be a lot more since you don't have the luxury of gloves.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:32 PM) Our first game was Tuesday night. Freezing cold, but luckily we got slaughter rule'd so we didn't play more than 5 innings. lol. I had a rough night at the plate. 1 for 3. 1 of my outs, a groundout to pitcher, the other out was a foul out that squibbed towards 1B. The opposing pitcher kept quickpitching us and the ump kept forgetting to hold him. I realize I should have just taken the pitches, but I was so cold I just wanted to swing at everything. Oh well, we wouldn't have won anyway. I'm considering getting a bat, I just don't think I have the power to hit a HR unless I get a really nice bat. The one I have now is pretty dead, but I only use it for singles to RF, so I never cared. What kind of league is this? ASA? USSSA? NSA?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:32 PM) Nah city field usually don't have a fence except for a few. Hamlin has four fields. They played me like 20 feet passed the infield. I'm not a crazy power hitter but I do go deep and it was ridiculous. Took minutes to get the ball back. The only field that has a fence for real is UIC and also Pulaski but only in left ( my favorite field). I guess it's a bit different in the city due to space limitations. The fields out here in Austin are all 300 (some fields are 285 in sections) or 315.

2014 AL Central catch-all thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 10:02 AM) ehhhh .276/.288/.310/.598 He's now hitting .318. I think I saw he was hitting .298 a few days ago and assumed he'd have an OPS near .750. I guess he's hitting nothing but singles.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:25 PM) First spring game tonight and I felt terrible for the other team. In the spring you run into teams that thought it was a great idea but put no thought into it. Tonight was one of those. Went deep twice and hit a mercy single the last time up and the game was over. They played me so shallow in the first that it rolled past the other field and the guy had to wait to go get it. Nice people but they need to find another hobby. You guys don't have a fence?
