QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 08:28 AM) The Walking Dead is so fun-bad it's ridiculous. Now that the action is picking up, I am more intrigued. Thef*ck was that thing that saved Andrea? Don't care! I'm down. We need some Lost-type s***. I like how Rick doesn't give a s*** anymore. Get in line or GTFO, that includes you Lori, you raging c***. Seriously, Lori is the worst. Also, Carl goes from being a kid, to being a kid who wants to be an adult and shoot things, to being a crybaby. F*ck you, Carl. Our team of zombie slayers is pulling off head shots with a 98% accuracy (might actually be 100%). Fun-bad defined, that's just good television last night. Herschel also had nearly unlimited shotgun ammo.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Why the hell did they move him to left? I thought he was doing well in right and had a good arm? If we didn't have the bum, Dunn, we could DH Viciedo the next 15 years (if his age is not a lie) and be done with it. Because sticking Rios in left seemed like a waste. Rios is clearly the superior fielder and has shown that he can play the position extremely well in previous years. Viciedo will be fine in LF, it's actually easier than RF (which is why they stick all the crappy OFers in left), it'll just take time to adjust since he's only played the OF for a year thus far.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Who's left (bold are the 12 I think will go in the next two weeks): Pitchers (16): Axelrod, Bruney, Crain, Danks, Floyd, Humber, Jones, Ohman, Peavy, Reed, Sale, Santiago, Septimo, Stewart, Stults, Thornton Catchers (4): Flowers, Gimenez, Phegley, Pierzynski Infielders (11): Beckham, Dunn, Escobar, Gallagher, Johnson, Konerko, McPherson, Morel, Olmedo, Ramirez, Saladino Outfielders (6): Danks, De Aza, Fukudome, Lillibridge, Rios, Viciedo Hmm, you really think Johnson's going to make the team? It seems like we have enough 1B/DH types already. I wouldn't be surprised if they broke camp with Escobar. We only have one guy on the bench that can play the middle infield if we take Johnson.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) I am debating Tebow with Frank Thomas on twitter. Never thought I would say that Please do share.
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 02:52 AM) Well today just showed how streaky we've been all season really, and when our outside shooters aren't knocking down their jumpers, we can come up with that sort of offensive output. Desperately need a swingman who can create his own shot. Magic fans think it's about time Hedo got benched for a while also. Ellis would have been a great fit for Orlando. The trade for Ellis was basically Bogut and Jefferson for Ellis and Udoh. I think Ryan Anderson + some other pieces could have been a better return, seeing how Bogut is never healthy.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) My buddy let me use his account a couple years ago, and it was very, very choppy. But that's probably also due to being on the schools internet connection. Living in my apartment now probably makes it infinitely better, but I don't think he has an account anymore. :/ You need at least a 12 MBPS connection to make it look like an HD feed, unfortunately.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) Wow...crushing Orlando without Rose. Lucas with 20 points in 19 minutes. Dude can be hot/cold but he can score. Reminds me a bit of Jannero Pargo. Zero defensive abilities and he can be very hot & cold but when he's on, he can be a nice guy to have on the back of your bench to create a spark-plug. Lucas actually has the ability to create his own shot though (sometimes). If I remember correctly, didn't Pargo shoot nothing but 3s?
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) The Bulls just beat the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th teams in the Eastern Confernce without Derrick Rose and Rip Hamilton. Also, congrats to Thibs on becoming the fastest coach to 100 wins in NBA history. Unfortunately, the haters who said D-Rose didn't deserve the MVP last year will point to this stretch as if he's somehow not that important to the Bulls' success.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) That's crazy to me. You don't even use it for Netflix or MLB.tv or any other apps? I guess if you don't have those services, it's moot. But I love watching movies in Blu-Ray. Planet Earth and Life are incredible looking. MLB.tv on PS3 freaking rules. It's got a longer delay (since it's so high in quality), but it's literally like watching an excellent HD feed of the game over your internet connection.

QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Sorry, but I have played both The Show and 2K this year and they are essentially the same game with The Show having much better graphics.. I dont really care what the game looks like, am I having fun playing it is much more important to me and The Show was not a fun game to play at all.. It may be because of my awesome giant TV, but I dont know that for sure.. All I know is, I want to have fun playing any game and The Show was not fun to me.. If 2K looked like The Show did, it wouldnt be so lopsided in popularity.. I really dont care though as I get everything I need for my baseball fix from 2K without having to play The Show and want to rip my ball hairs out in the process.. Now the only thing I have left to do is figure out what to do with this piece of s*** PS3 that FoP made me buy and is now just collecting dust under my TV.. The biggest difference is that the Show feels like baseball. I've played 2K10 extensively, I've also played 2K11. Those two games couldn't even come close to the Show in terms of gameplay and attention to detail. I don't imagine that 2K12 is all that different. IMO, the only thing that 2K has on the show is presentation (especially broadcasters) and better pitching controls. It can't touch the Show in terms of anything else.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) I enjoyed Bill Simmons take on it: Bill Simmons ‏ @sportsguy33 Working against him: they've seen him play. MT @ESPNSteinLine: Source says Bulls are right at top of Derek Fisher's wish list. Isn't Derek Fisher literally dead? I seriously hope the Bulls have negative interest.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 01:45 PM) I'm still trying to reason how Peyton could have possibly not wanted San Francisco. He wanted to see Tebowmania end.
  13. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) Welcome to Miami. Anything is possible in Miami. Nice place to have a Chicago reunion. Wow, Zambrano is in great shape. He looks as slim as Mark.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 07:50 AM) T R U is a poster here on soxtalk. I do zone hitting. and pretty much all i do is guess pitch fastball inside. If the ball goes anywhere else i won't swing unless its really close. also on counts where i have two strikes, ill use the circle button to fight off pitches until i get the pitcher to toss one in the zone I'm sitting on. if my guess pitch zone indicator doesn't light up ill shade the batters eye to the right of the strike zone since i obviously know the pitch isn't coming inside. ill only use the power swing if i guess location and pitch type correctly, this has led to most of my HR's. any other situation i use the X button to hit. hope that helps a little, getting your batters eye and having an understanding of when a pitch is going to be too low is huge. When the game first came out i was trying to dig out pitches headed for the dirt all the freaking time. This is probably the best lazy strategy for hitting in the Show. They've made sure that you don't do this with success in recent versions. I remember back in The Show 07 and 08, I'd guess fastball low almost all the time. Then on a hitter's count, I'd guess fastball up and crush the s*** out of it. That no longer applies to this year's version, unfortunately.

QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 10:16 AM) Yes, I did trade in The Show for MLB2K12.. The Show was terrible and I cant believe I got suckered into buying it by FoP.. Plus, MLB came with NBA2K12 as well and im loving that game so far.. I dont get how you guys can like PS3 so much.. its so inferior to XBOX its not even funny.. You have to wait for long loads whenever you put a game in the PS3 (Yawn) the dashboard is clunky and poor to navigate.. the controller is too damn small.. You cant talk to anyone when you are playing online.. The bluray is pretty damn nice though.. Blasphemy. I stopped after one year of 2K. That game just doesn't feel like actual baseball.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Last night was my first real time drinking at Kams, I don't remember much. Oh god... I've vowed to never enter Kam's, even though I live right next to it, which oh BTW sucks badly. I can't sleep until 2 AM.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) $2.5 million minor league deal with the Yankees. Won't be ready to start the year. Per the Twitter-verse Don't the Yankees have an abundance of starters? Why the hell do they need a 40 year old?
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Only the dumb ones. I can be a tad perturbed at the price paid for Nick Young, but whatever. Nick Young's a chucker who can't play D, but it still would have been nice to have him, especially at the price LAC paid.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...0,2344264.story Just like the Lakers. Bat sh*t crazy. There was no way the Bulls were going to trade Noah + Taj + picks for Gasol. That's straight up murder. Noah's actually been more productive this year than Gasol. In fact, Noah's been one of the most efficient players in the league this year according to WS/48.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Adrian Wojnarowski ‏ @WojYahooNBA The Clippers have traded for Washington's Nick Young as part of a three-way deal, source tells Y! Sports. Marc J. Spears ‏ @SpearsNBAYahoo Clippers acquire guard Nick Young from the Washington Wizards for forward Brian Cook and a pick, source tells Y! Sports. Adrian Wojnarowski ‏ @WojYahooNBA As part of three-team deal, Nene goes to the Wizards, JaVale McGee to Denver and Nick Young to Clippers, sources tell Y! Sports. Holy crap. Not sure I understand what Denver's really trying to do, but wow, a real deal actually got made today.
  21. QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) I like the 'slogan' in that article better than appreciate the game. Win or start packing. It has a nice ring to it. That it does.
  22. I love how RealGM was the first to report Howard opting in for 2012-2013. +1 to the internets!
  23. It totally sucks knowing the Bulls won't do anything relevant. *Sigh
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) They're in desperation mode. They are completely f***ed now that Howard is staying in Orlando. Deron will likely bolt to Dallas this offseason, so they bring him in to upgrade from Stephenson. It's not a great move, like I said, they're now talented enough to grab a playoff seed (if they stay as constructed for next year, which is doubtful, because Deron will be gone. Deron/Farmar Brooks/Morrow Wallace/Green Humphries/Green Lopez isn't awful, (though scoring down low will be quite easy for any team). That looks like a pretty solid lineup on paper.
