QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) I don't think he panicked. It just didn't work out. You leave rose out there going for the win obviously. It would have been huge being up 3-1 headed home. Now this series will go 6 or worse 7 games. I don't know why the rest of the team didn't show up tonight, if they just expected another game like friday night or what. I expected this series to go 6, so it's not like I didn't expect the Hawks to put up some sort of a fight. But with the Bulls having all of the momentum before this game and the fact that they led at the end of 3, seeing them blow this game in the 4th with mental mistakes and bad coaching decisions is frustrating. Thibs usually never lets Rose play the entire 4th quarter. He is very set with his rotations, as shown with the whole Bogans love. He panicked tonight and his changes were for the worse.

Boozer got no touches after he missed his first shot in the start of the 4th. WTF Thibbs? Thibbs panicked in this game big time. He overplayed Rose and Korver. Korver on Teague was a TERRIBLE idea. The entire Atlanta run started when that matchup came up. Rose didn't get calls this game, but with the home crowd the way it was, that's expected. He also didn't finish a lot of his layups, something that's probably bound to happen every once in a while. The interior defense sucked. Atlanta played games with Noah, Gibson, and Boozer all game. Josh Smith was like a damn point guard in the paint today. Bulls need to make adjustments. The Hawks have, now it's our turn to adjust back.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) There were several odd calls down the stretch that changed the momentum. All part of having a home crowd though. Finish em in Chicago tues and thurs and call it a day. Teague ran Korver over on one of the big layups Atlanta had and it should have been an offensive foul.

QUOTE (Felix @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) It was very, very odd. Not sure I've seen it before, and it definitely should have been a foul and three shots. That said, it's not why the Bulls lost. The Bulls lost because their post defense was REALLY bad. They probably would have lost regardless, but it was a 6 point game at that point and three free throws would have been incredibly important.

QUOTE (Real @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) lol Rose 9/27, that's a nice even 33.3% Not getting the ball to roll in at the rim. He's had at least two layups roll out. Also a few hacks that weren't called in the first half. He's still shot a decent amount of FTs.

Zaza Pachulia's a damn soccer player. Boozer probably did push off on his fouls, but Pachulia sells it like he just got drop kicked.

Pachulia's a flopper. Boozer barely touched him.

A lot of traps early on against Rose. The Hawks are doing what Indiana did. Let's see how this works for them. Guys like Deng and Boozer must step up.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) And if you believed in advanced metrics, he was their most vital piece. Gasol was great this year, probably his best regular season with the Lakers. He just had a super lousy postseason for whatever reason. Hawks are changing their lineup, Collins is in to play the Jeff Foster role, I figure. Rose burned them too badly in game 3.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 8, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) Ok, so Iggy is on the trading block again once the postseason ends. I'd offer up Brewer, Watson, Pargo, Bogans, Lucas, the 28th pick, for Iggy. All those contracts are non-guaranteed or expiring, and gets Iggy's contract off the Sixers hands. Rose (38)/Vet. PG (10) Iguodala (24)/Korver (24) Deng (38)/Iguodala (10) Boozer (30)/Gibson (18) Noah (36)/Asik (12) That starting five D is suffocating and if your new back up point can play D, the bench D should still be good. Iggy doesn't really spread the floor like an Affalo can, but he's at least a guy who can create his own shot. That would be an incredible defensive team. I'm not sure the Bulls have the cap room for his contract though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) I still think the Thunder could give the Bulls some problems Perkins and Ibaka in the lane = a lot of blocked shots on Rose. Especially if he isn't fully healthy.

Looks like Rose's ankle is fine now. He was bound to start shooting the 3 well sooner or later and he even limited them today to less than his tallies in his previous two games, when he wasn't making them. And please play Gibson more. The defense is so much better with him in there instead of Boozer. Rose with a .712 True Shooting today, awesome stuff.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) There have been 91 teams in major league history to start the season 11-21. Five have finished over .500 and 2 have made the playoffs. The Sox have their work cut out for them. A bad roadtrip and it really might be over. One of those two was that 05 Houston team, who started 15-30.- 2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 5, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) I think probably 10-15% of his 3's are at the end of quarters or bailouts to beat the 24 second clock. Somebody went back and looked at every one of his 3s or something. He had like 30 heaves at the buzzer, two of which went in. If you took that away, he shot something like 35-36% from 3 this year instead of 32-33%. I'm not exactly sure on the numbers, but I think they're in the neighborhood.- 2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) Plus, he's just an awesome defender in my book. He also goes on spurts of terrible terrible basketball, unfortunately. If Boozer really does have a broken toe, he has to sit. That's a huge investment there. If he damages his ankle or toe anymore, this team can be financially screwed for years down the line. Plus, it also doesn't help that he's playing like crap on offense and can't do anything on defense. There was a stretch in yesterday's game where the Hawks had 6 consecutive layups, yes, six, while Boozer was in the game. When Gibson came in, they had 0 points in the paint for the rest of the quarter. - Hawk
