White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
That's the second time that's happened this year. Morel got an RBI out of that in KC.

So it ends in the 7th...

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
The ump totally missed the high curve to Tex. That actually was a strike...

Pierzysnki hunts first pitch after a walk and Burnett being wild to Rios. Seriously, does plate discipline mean nothing to this guy?

Rios with a base hit? Harrrr?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) Did KW make his speech or whatever today? If he did, then it hasn't been all that effective, that's for sure.

QUOTE (Andrew @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) This is too good to believe. Humber no hitting the Yanks through 6. I expect this to end in the 7th. He's getting near 100 pitches now and he hasn't been on a high pitch count all year.

How funny would it be if Humber, you know, does that thing Mark Buehrle did twice?

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Beckham looks like he did last April. Really disappointing, I was a bit worried with all the predictions of him having a huge year this year... He started the year hitting so well too. Just like last year.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) Hell, put Dunn there and hope he can get on base for Quentin/Konerko Ozzie will never allow that to happen.

2011 Video Game Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Since I dont have a PS, is PSN being down related to the GeoHot/Sony thing? Might be semi-related. Anonymous says it's not their doing and I wouldn't trust Sony saying it's an "external" attack. They're probably buffing up their security on the network.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) can't b**** about Q You'd think with PK and Q hitting well, this offense would still be able to score some runs. I guess not.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Sick catch by Gardner there. That's a triple if that gets past him. Time to try someone else in the 2nd spot, as Alexei seems in between now. Who else is there to try? Beckham's not gonna go back there until he can hit the damn ball. Definitely not Morel. A.J.'s not hitting anything hard either.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
Whatever Morel is doing now, it ain't working. He needs to go back to his mechanics and stance from last season. Bring the hands up a bit more like last season.

QUOTE (Andrew @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) You should've heard Michael Kay on YES when that pretty routine fly ball was hit. I guess A-Rod's fly balls are easy to get excited over.

lol Hawk gets excited after Quentin catches a pretty routine fly ball.

Tex might have hit that ball out of Yankee Stadium had he connected well.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
Rios has been bad since last year's ASB. He was one of the best players in baseball during the first half of last season and then he fell off a freaking cliff. Instead of driving the ball and hitting line drives in the second half of the season, he decided to just hit grounders up the middle the entire time.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) I'm curious what people think of this strategy. If that really his reasoning, why not just go with the LaRussa move and bat the pitcher 8th? The thing he doesn't bring up is that he's giving Aaron freaking Miles the most PAs on the entire team, which is just sad. Carroll's not a good player by any means, but Miles is barely a ML bench player.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) He's never hit for a lot of power. At best, scouts projected 15-20 in the majors. But yes, it's pathetic how awful Walker is with young talent. Morel had an ISO of .183 in AAA last year. .185 in his brief stint with the Sox. Those are decent marks that represent a 15-20 home run hitter. Morel looks like he might hit 1 home run all year right now.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) Well, that was a pathetic at bat by Morel. He'll be back in Charlotte by mid May. You really shouldn't be playing in our park with a corner infielder who has no power. I'm pretty sure he does have power. The problem is that he's on the 2009 Josh Fields hitting routine right now. How does Fields go from hitting 23 homers in about 300 ABs in 2007 to becoming a power-less below .400 SLG hitter in a matter of 2 years? Sure, his 2008 was pretty bad, but I don't see how a player's ability to hit for power can be killed that easily unless he was hurt and is still hurt. It looks as if Morel is on the same road. He had a lot of power last year and had a couple of home runs in a very limited stretch. Then he comes into this year hitting nothing but singles and ground balls. Something's gotta give. I'm not saying Morel is anywhere the power hitter Josh Fields was in 07, but it's just a weird trend that I see. AND WTF, STOP WITH THE f***ING BUNTS!

Pierre's playing scared in the OF. This team is in a mental funk right now all around.
