2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) I would be estatic if the Bulls were to get Johnson there. He's projected to go early 2nd. As long as the Bulls use one of their first two picks to get him, they'll be fine.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) I think they have tried to move up, but no one is biting (yet). My realistic draft: 28 = Nikola Mirotic, combo forward from Montenegro 30 = JaJuan Johnson, Purdue 43 = Malcolm Lee, combo guard from UCLA Since we don't need our players to get a lot of minutes right away, I would really like to see them take a international player and stash him away for awhile. This Mirotic guy has All-Star talent, just is young and you won't see an ROI on him for three years ish. Johnson seems like Taj 2.0. Real smart, plays defense, shoots well, works hard, just a little thin. And Lee would be a nice reserve guard who can play defense and handle the point if you want Rose to play off the ball. I would love Brooks, but no way he is there anymore. Malcolm Lee is interesting. UCLA tends to produce a lot of good NBA players. I'd be satisfied with Lee and Johnson. I'm not a fan of international picks, but the Bulls seem like they're keen on taking a player they can stash away. I'd much rather have them do that with the 43rd pick though.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) I'm not a Bulls fan. I'm not an NBA fan either, but my family's obsessed, so I watch my fair share of games. The Bulls should go: Norris Cole, Charles Jenkins, and Travis Leslie. All small school scorers. I know the Bulls need a SG, but that's overloading on guards. You gotta take at least one SF/PF like Johnson or Harper.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) If we're keeping all 3 picks, my preference would be: Justin Harper 28 Shelvin Mack/Nolan Smith/Josh Selby 30 Keith Benson/JaJuan Johnson 43 JaJuan Johnson's not going to drop to 43. Smith and Mack have a better chance of dropping that low.

AJ vs. Peavy thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) 1.) We don't win the WS without this prick. 2.) Who cares if AJ showed up Peavy. Did you want to lose the game? We were on our way to blowing another game. Thank you, AJ, for helping us win. Everybody's afraid of Peavy, including Oz. I love what AJ did. Somebody now needs to man up to Dunn to wake his lard ass up. I love how you make fun of Dunn for being out of shape when you're Bobby Jenks' #1 fan. You're really something Greg. And I'm sure not everybody is afraid of Peavy on the team.

AJ vs. Peavy thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Brian, you're wrong on this one, AJ's actions are indefensible. I rip Peavy as much as the next guy, but this isn't about how he was performing, or AJ backers vs Peavy backers based on anything in the past. Here's what happened, I posted this in the game thread: When Peavy gives up that last hit, as Soriano scores you can briefly see AJ give the "get him out of here" heave-ho sign with his right arm and his right pointer finger extended. Then as he walks towards the mound, he's staring into the dugout just waiting, begging for the change. He basically showed Peavy up, and Peavy saw it. It started before they were both on the mound and Ozzie made the change. Can't really fault Peavy, that's not a good move by a catcher regardless of whether he should be taken out, you just don't do that. I agree, it's terrible to show up your teammates like that. Peavy should have been taken out sooner, but A.J. has to restrain himself.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) I'm all for ditching Beasley. Between an offensive game that isn't all that good, a defense that is abysmal and a flaky personality, I'd love to trade him and move on. Not sure that Kahn sees it the same way, however. He did get him for nothing. Maybe that's his prized acquisition that he really wants to pan out.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) One way or another, I fully expect the pick to be traded. Probably won't get the type of return Kahn wants either, but I don't think he has the balls to take Williams with Beasley already on the roster. I agree. Beasley's an inefficient chucker though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Boom pregnant Boom twins Sergio impregnates the opposing team's hitters with his slider.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) I'll take that .400 OBP any day of the week. The problem is that he's never finished the season with a .400 OBP before.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/30198774 I'd be surprised if they didn't take Williams (assuming the pick isn't traded and Irving goes #1), but I've been wrong before. We've all been wrong before when it comes to David Kahn's drafting.

Did Kahn say something about taking Enes Kanter with the #2 pick? Because DraftXpress' latest mock draft has Kanter going 2nd instead of Derrick Williams.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Depending on if the Sox are still going for it next year, does anyone else feel like adding Fukudome would be a nice pick-up in the offseason? I'd love his .400 OBP as the lead-off hitter. Not for $12 million.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Yeah, I think it's pretty bad that a series against the lineup Quade is throwing out there has been this close. Washington has to be licking their chops. Ozzie should have pulled Peavy after the Pena home run.
