  1. I'm not sure the Bulls want to sign him though. It's good to know signed with the Bulls virtually though.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) Matt Garza has been probably the unluckiest pitcher in baseball. His peripherals are sick. I expect him to K at least 10 tonight. The unluckiest is Zack Greinke. His ERA is 3 runs higher than his FIP.
  3. There's lots of speculation that the Bulls will take Nolan Smith with the 30th pick. Personally, I'm not a big fan of that pick. I'd rather have Charles Jenkins if you want to go after a combo guard. I really like Justin Harper from Richmond, the guy can shoot and you can stick him at the 3 to backup Deng. Iman Shumpert could slip to 30 as well and he can push Watson as a backup PG. I'd be fine with Harper/Shumpert or Harper/Jenkins, but picking Smith wouldn't be terrible.
  4. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) for some reason I believe we'll win the next 2. also paulie gonna continue his HR streak. The Sox have lost the first game in both of their previous IL series thus far. Of course, then won the next 2 in both of them. I hope the trend continues.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) What happens if Cleveland takes Williams? Then you know Kahn takes Irving. I think the Williams route might be smarter for the Cavs. Then tehy can go and get a PG with the #4 pick. It probably won't be Irving, but Kemba Walker + Williams might be better than Irving + somebody else.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) What does that make the team they beat yesterday? A WNBDL team, if that even exists.
  7. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) He's a Lynx fan. They're all the same to SS2K5.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) The Bulls won 62 games this year. This isn't a team that needs a drastic set of changes. They need improvement at 1 starting position. That's not a drastic change. A drastic change is what happened to the post 2007 Bulls. I guess it depends on what we all think is drastic. Dwight Howard would definitely be drastic, but we all know that's a next to impossible possibility this off-season.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) via @cst_Cowley Hopefully, Forman is lying.
  10. Felix might kill himself if Kahn makes that deal.
  11. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21422...nnesota_For_2nd Pacers are offering Hibbert + their 15th pick for the second pick of the draft. They're really going for it. If they do get the pick, they're probably going to pick Williams (assuming he's still there).
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) But his contract is up this year, he's tall, he plays C, and Dalembert is a free agent. They still have Spencer Hawes. So I'm not sure Kaman would be a necessity. Dalembert didn't even play for Philadelphia last year, so I'm not sure how he fits into all of this.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) And the problem with Thornton wasn't being moved to the closer's role anyway, it's that he suddenly couldn't strike anyone out. He still struck out 9 per 9. He just couldn't throw enough strikes to be effective.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 07:07 AM) He definitely is the Web Gem champ. I just think Ramirez and Escobar have been the best overall. -5 UZR, -7 DRS. He really is a 2B playing SS. He lacks range, which could be why he gets a bunch of Web Gems. Nothing like making a routine play look difficult.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 07:33 AM) Thanks, dude. There goes one of Quinarvy's dreams. I would've loved to somehow net AI2. He's like the Franklin Gutierrez of the NBA. So gifted defensively that anything he contributes offensively is a bonus. That would've been our LeBron 'stopper.' I doubt the Sixers make that trade. Kaman is horrible.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) For Hanley Ramirez? Wow. Phil Rogers is seriously baseball stupid.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) Hopefully Washington can look past players that are proven pedigrees, cause CC, Price, & Lester are not deserving All-Stars this season. Beckett, Weaver, Verlander , Shields, Pineda, & Ogando have all been better than Humber. Like you mentioned, Gonzalez is the only deserving Athletic, Wilson being a Ranger helps his cause as well. Then it would come down to Humber or Haren, Romero, Felix (who hasn't been Cy Felix this year). His odds are pretty slim it appears. Last year they selected 8 starters, then 3 more were added due to injury/ineligibility. Washington's probably too coked up to realize anything.

    QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) "Your Highness" might be the worst movie ever made with such a strong cast. Don't think Mr. McBride will be writing any more screenplays for a while. Danny McBride can write? Woah!
  19. Rongey also tried to say the leadoff hitter isn't as important as the 6 and 7 hitters (he also said 3, 4, 5). Ideally, you want one of your best hitters in the leadoff spot (highest OBP, lowest SLG amongst your best hitters). It's hard to argue with Rongey. He's going to take the same stance over and over again, basically. I think I missed your call maggs, but I heard Rongey try to explain himself after your call while I was eating Subway in my car.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:03 AM) SP in the AL is just too deep. And I don't think Humber has that league-wide recognition as of yet. Even with the great numbers he's putting up that you've alluded to. To put it in perspective. Which one of these pitchers would you boot in favor of Humber? Felix Verlander Weaver Haren Pineda Beckett Lester Ogando Price Sabathia Shields Gonzalez Romero Wilson Buchholz Those are starting pitchers I came up with right off the top of my head. Now obviously all 15 of these guys aren't going to make it regardless. Now Felix, Verlander, Weaver, Haren, Beckett, Lester, Price, Sabathia should all be locks. Not only based off of their performance this year, but their proven pedigrees. James Shields and Michael Pineda have been flat out better than Humber. I don't think anybody would question that. That leaves you with Gonzalez, Romero, Wilson, Ogando abd Buchholz. Gonzalez will be their simply because you have to take at least one guy from each team (not that he's not worthy). Wilson and Ogando, or at least one of them, will be there because Ron Washington is the manager. Romero is on his second consecutive really good year (he's even better better than last year) and pitches in that beast of a division. Then you're left with Buchholz, who's a 'name' and pitches for arguably the second most popular organization in baseball. There's just no way Humber would be able to overcome all that unless he threw a perfect game or something. He just hasn't been doing it long enough, nor is he viewed as a premium talent (like Pineda) and is not a 'brand' name. Honestly, I'd rather have Humber pitch than Buchholz, Gio, and maybe Romero. Every time Humber goes out there, I feel extremely confident in the Sox' ability to win that game. His peripherals may be a lot less impressive than his ERA and WHIP, but until he starts regressing, I'm going to remain confident in his abilities. The only flaw I see in him thus far is that he tires pretty easily. Once he hits the 90 pitch mark, his stuff starts deteriorating and he gets into trouble.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:27 AM) I was like... "May"? Sean May? Who? and immediately pondered how the Grizz got him and why we'd want him. I see you meant Mayo. I don't see why the Grizzlies would do that, but yes, please. I don't either. Although Korver might play a bigger role on that team next year than Mayo. Mayo was in the dog house all of last season.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) Paper in Memphis floats a deal centered around Korver for May. Doesn't the Grizzlies GM hate the Bulls?
  23. Is Carter going to take crap money?
