It's the long form of Mike Hawk.

Manaea.

I don't think they'd go this hard if the Matz thing didn't happen the way it did. For Scherzer to sign with the Mets, they must have really outbid everyone else.

I said the Matz thing pissed Cohen off and he was gonna go all-in. If they really land Scherzer I think that counts as all-in.

Ha what about now?

Pretty fair deal. I think Ray will get something similar.

Pirates are gonna get Leury book it.

Semien hit a ton of pull home runs last year and I don't think the size of Globe Life Park will help him. That said the Rangers have hit on long deals with guys over 30 before. Beltre's 5 year deal when he was 31 worked out great for them. He ended up being productive for 8 years for them. He's also a much better player than Semien though.

Yikes this is 2-3 years more than most people thought he'd get. The AAV is fairly reasonable though.

That is a great deal for the Twins, which really sucks for us.

He's gonna need some time, but I just don't think he's that good to begin with. They lost today cause nobody besides DeRozan and Caruso shot the ball well.

If a guy like Neris got 2 years and $17 million, the Sox shouldn't have many issues getting rid of Kimbrel's contract.

I can't help but feel Cohen was pissed about the Matz thing and is going all in.

It's so sad that this is true.

The Mets just got 7 WAR for next year in one day. But it cost them $40+ million in salaries alone. Nevermind having to pay Marte when he's going to be 37 when his deal expires.

Right, but they have 3 outfielders and 2B/3B filled. Their depth chart literally has him as a utility guy right now. But given the Mets' injuries last year, they may try to stack up on depth this year.

Had the Sox gotten Escobar and Marte like the Mets did today, would you have been satisfied?

He's literally got nowhere to play now if Cano comes back as the starting 2B. Nimmo will probably move to right. Marte in center, Canha in left. Escobar will play 3rd or 2nd.

The White Sox and guys that Keith Law hates, match made in heaven.

Seems about right. I just don't think the FO likes him all that much.

He and Ray are probably gonna end up with similar types of deals. Both are guys who have great recent success but very meh track records before that.

I see this as well. Very rarely do I see them score and think, "that was a nice drawn up play". There doesn't seem to be a lot of easy baskets right now for the offense in a half court set. The half court offense runs strictly through Zach and DeMar's talent as scorers. Vucevic figuring out his shooting problems would help as well. His COVID stint really came at a terrible time because be was just starting to shoot and play better right before he got it.

There's no good reason it was supposed to be a close game, but the ref calling offensive foul on Lonzo for just falling down completely changed the game's momentum late. I've never seen a ref fuck up that bad, have it be reviewed and still have it stand. Absolute bullshit.

Liam will have to throw 6 innings in 3 days and then come home and jab them in their sleep cause he's a psycho.

lmao if we re-sign Tepera they can be the unvaxxed bullpen bros
