I love this team! SOX WIN!!!!!
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) What happened if you don't mind me asking? It was awful in general. I arrived at about 12:15. There were lines outside the stadium up until past first pitch. They shut down the Upper Deck because of ice but they didn't let anyone in the stadium until about 12:45. I didn't get inside until the 2nd inning. It was just really s***ty planning. Then the food and drink lines were horrendous and the workers just took forever. It was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had a Sox game. It's never like that. I did get a voucher for any April/May home game though.

4/8 game thread WHITE SOX HOME OPENER vs Cleveland
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) First pitch tomorrow supposed to be 35 with a real feel of 28. They could definitely play the "inclement weather" card tomorrow. Those hats will come in handy. Baseball players are weak.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 02:28 PM) You're right. A lot of players and others have been wearing them today. Magnetic schedules today. Hats tomorrow--so those will be given out in May. They'll get tomorrow's game in I think. I hope so anyway. I'll be in attendance. Supposed to be less than 40 degrees but no precipitin in the forecast for tomorrow.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) I heard Sam Hinkie is available. I'd rather have Hinkie than our management group. At least Hinkie has a vision and a plan.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Wouldn't Miguel Gonzalez be the most likely candidate to replace Latos/Danks? Absolutely. He's the next man up.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 09:05 PM) I'm going to try to figure them all out. Chris Sale (CWS), Carlos Rodon (CWS), Jake Petricka (CWS), Tyler Saladino (CWS), Nate Jones (CWS), Trayce Thompson (LAD), Josh Phegley (OAK), Marcus Semien (OAK), Chris Bassitt (OAK), Mike Morse (PIT), Chris Young (BOS), Chris Stewart (PIT), Boone Logan (COL), Brandon McCarthy (LAD), Gio Gonzalez (WAS), Carlos Torres (MIL), Clayton Richard (CHC), Hector Santiago (LAA), Gordon Beckham (ATL), Daniel Hudson (ARI), Addison Reed (NYM) I was doing it in my head and missed Richard, Logan, and Torres. Damn. Is Ryan Sweeney out of baseball?

Sam Hinkie has resigned as GM of the 76ers. Makes sense. Colangelo was hired as Team President and he's most likely bringing in his son Bryan Colangelo as GM. I would have left to if I were Hinkie.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Was listening to Rush Limbaugh in the car and he said exactly what I said recently!! He laughed and said, "Bernie has won, what six of the last seven? Five of the last six?" and all you hear from the media is how Hillary is about to wrap it up. The media is hilarious. The story should be Bernie kicking her ass of late and nothing. My gosh ... why does the media want her in office so badly? They refuse to give Bernie his due. Because he has no chance. He's not winning. Hillary will receive the nomination.

Matt Albers
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) He's just mediocre. A 3.76 xfip, average fastball is 93 MPH, and over 3 walks per 9 innings last year. He is what he is. Has some decent movement that makes up for lack of pure velocity out of the pen but walks way too many guys and doesn't miss enough bats to be a high leverage reliever. I'd use him against RHP before Duke, but I'd probably rate Jennings as a little better just because he misses more bats. They both have issues with walks. Patrick's Hits/Walks to K rate is really bad. He doesn't strike anyone out.

4/6 Sox @ Oakland
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 09:49 AM) So I think Avi should sit today. I don't have anyone to play for him though. They decided not to take anyone who hits RHP on their bench.

Good News---White Sox Still a resonable price

2016-2017 NFL Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) i disagree with this, he was on B&B this past season and they had him research names that he thought were going to be stars and were misses, and he came back the next week with a good long list. He does hold his opinion in high regard, but you have to imagine that it is an inherent trait in a good scout, to have a big ego about what they do. My only fault with him is he really feels that the intangibles are more important than measurables. Try disagreeing with him on twitter. I guarantee he calls you an idiot because you never spent a 1st rounder on Rex Grossman.

2016-2017 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) Gabriel is pretty connected to this day. I actually find his articles extremely enjoyable. This guy was successful at what he did and was in the business a long long time. If you follow his tweets this off-season, he's had a good amount of insight into Bears moves. I'd believe what he says over a lot of other items. When he says there are no current legs, I'll buy it. Please note he said "NOW". My guess is Pace has made a call and got the price and he told the Jets to call him when they come to there senses. I imagine the actual list of potential suitors would be relatively small, given that I presume not a ton of teams have the cap space at this point in the off-season to make a long-term deal with Wilk work. He's an asshole though. He should be a valuable resource for the many young guys interested in the draft. Many people "scout" players and create their own websites and draft guides. Gabriel talks down to most of them like they are idiots. There are many Greg Gabriel's littered throughout the league which is why there is still a ton of antiquated old thinking that leads to teams being bad year after year. Greg Gabriel has never been wrong before. Just ask him.

A look at the depth picture for the major league club

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) Our Brian Bilek did a really nice overview piece looking at depth for major league roster slots - who is available to the big league club from the minors that are at or near major league-ready. It includes some comments he got directly from Rick Hahn and Nick Capra. Here is the article. Some good and bad in terms of depth. Catching seems to be the biggest red flag. The Sox have a ton of bullpen depth.

2016 Opening Day Thread
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 2, 2016 -> 11:49 PM) Navarro, offensively, is a huge offensive upgrade. Avila is really an offensive downgrade, but I'm sure Navarro will become the everyday catcher by June. Avila is not a downgrade offensively. He has power and walks a ton.
