  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) A NTC can block a waiver claim too. Either the Sox are going to have to claim Manny, or he'll have to clear, and from the sounds of it, even with right around $5-6 mill left on his contract, he is probably not going to clear. From what I understand Manny does not have a typical contract. The Dodgers structured that deal to pay Manny deferred money over the next 2-3 years. With these terms, I find it highly unlikely that anyone would claim him. He would just pass through and then go to whoever works out a deal with Los Angeles. Again, I could be wrong here but I was always under the assumption that because of the deferred money, he'd clear.
  2. QUOTE (Hollywood_AU @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) Sounds like we may have "mystery starter" pitching for us tonight (or Pena). Kinda makes me nervous with the DH with the Tigers coming up soon. Some guy just texted in to The Score and told Matt Spiegel that he is buddies with Lucas Harrell and that Harrell is on his way up to start tonight. Obviously not a great source, but that is what was said.
  3. Hey Guys! I am a longtime reader and new poster. I was on Baseball Prospectus's website at a buddie's house and saw an article on an interesting trade for the White Sox. I am not a subscriber to Prospectus but the writer listed her 5 trades that SHOULD be made in her opinion, before the deadline. The trade has Miguel Tejada and Luke Scott going to the White Sox for SS Prospect Escobar, Lucas Harrell, and Jhonny Nunez. My first impression was that it would take much more than that from the White Sox end but would be definitely be all for it if possible. Thoughts??
  4. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Kenny Williams should definitely stay. I love Ozzie, but if he can't straighten his sh*t out I'd like to see Dave Martinez from the Rays given a chance. Thunderbolt's signature about Ozzie scares the hell outta me though. I am pretty sure that Sandburg will get the Cubs job and then Dave Martinez will swoop in and steal it from him
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) I'd rather see Quentin in there than Jones but this lineup matches up better without a DH and is good defensively. Didn't Omar account for 67% ofthe Sox runs yesterday...... Yeah he did, but Omar supposedly had to go back to Venezuela to take care of something. Should be back Sunday.
  6. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Indeed. It is a torn tibia. Most likely season ending.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 26, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4771388 Chan Ho Park is suing Chad Kreuter for failing to pay off a little less than half of a 460,000 dollars(which has grown with interest). Ouch Its funny that Chan Ho Park who bankrolled 70 million dollars for doing nothing the last decade is that angry over 230 grand.
  8. I read in someone's column a couple of weeks ago that it would surprise no one if Freddy Garcia is back with the Sox. I love the idea. Garcia is a gamer. He could definitely win you the 12 games that Javy won last year. Garcia would be cheap too
