Boston's bullpen is actually pretty good but if they would take Thornton for him I'd make the deal in a heartbeat. Even if Youkilis sucks now. Who cares? Thornton sucks too and I hate looking at him. 95 MPH straight fastball with no movement and no off speed pitches. He also walks people. I have always hated Matt Thornton and now I hate him more.

I would not do Mitchell for Volquez straight up either because of the injury concerns. I'd consider it if Headley were involved though. What is Trayce Thompson's trade value? I like the idea of Volquez working with Cooper and being able to spin Floyd then after. But I know how bad the Sox system is and that money will be a concern.

That is quite the improvement for him. However, he does not face quality LHP ever with all of it being at AA or the majors.

The Sox will probably take Heaney or Wacha and make this a moot point anyway though.
