  1. Vaughn's first base defense is fine.
  2. Come on man. This is just not how it works. Convince Jerry to spend more? No shot. I respect the idealism but this is just not a real world thing. Do you think Ivy League GM's are clamoring for these 11 year signings for aging superstars? Hell no. These are rogue owners deciding that they want to spend money and win. Until Jerry decides to do the same (he won't), this is how it will be. Last offseason was botched for sure. The reliever contracts and Leury deal were bad and it might be hamstringing then now. That's on Rick Hahn but he's a middle manager at this point.
  3. What are you expecting? They don't have any money to spend. I think it'll be a Gallo type free agent in LF and Colas in RF. Maybe they add a 2B for cheap. The pitching staff is basically set. What is the alternative here? They should spend money but the owner won't. Because of that, you can improve your weaknesses slightly and take a stab at the division or you can change up the mix by moving guys like TA, Giolito and Hendriks. Doesn't seem like they want to do the latter. I think they'll bank on health, lineup flexibility and guys bouncing back and if that doesn't happen they'll have quite a bit to trade at the trade deadline.
  4. I mean it doesn't seem like he has many options. How would he have misjudged the market? The market that they are allowed to play in hasn't taken form yet. Only the teams with serious ownership are playing in this market. The White Sox basically have to wait. They'll add a left fielder once the dust settles and pray for health. I'm not sure what the alternative is.
  5. Players will never agree to that
  6. The league isn’t the haves and have nots though. It’s the haves and the won’ts.
  7. Madrigal stinks so it would hurt
  8. I don't know why Oakland would trade 3 years of Murphy for 4 years of Vaughn. They want prospects.
  9. Currently working on this article haha
  10. Yeah. That's what Fegan implied in the article.
  11. Sounds like 100 innings for Schultz. Promising
  12. I'm guessing that Castro needed to be the hitting coach in order to leave Atlanta and they created a position for Tosar.
  13. Good for Jose Abreu. I'm very glad that the White Sox didn't give him a 3 year deal though.
  14. I don’t think they feel this way. It’s one year of control though. If they keep him, they have to be fine with offering a QO or letting him leave for nothing after 2023.
  15. Good point. I just don’t think they’re trading for a starting pitcher, multiple outfielders and a second baseman. They’ll have to spend money
  16. Yeah I’m not really sure. I think it’s a range. If it’s really a hard, $180 million though, people need to get used to the idea of Oscar Colas, Lenyn Sosa and Davis Martin playing prominent roles
  17. That’s a bargain for him too. He’s out of options though and the bullpen is full.
  18. Funny story: when the Sox traded Madrigal and Heuer for Kimbrel, he told me about it in a DM 10 mins prior and I didn’t believe him haha
  19. Which college catchers do you like?
  20. I really hope not. He was bad last year and I think the Sox need a LHH as a starting caliber guy with a RHH 4th outfielder. I'm hoping that the Sox are trying to buy low on Jesse Winker I'd consider a claim for Barrett as well. Three options left and could play in Charlotte.
  21. Maybe him hating the Cubs instead of the rest of the division has contributed to his teams making the playoffs 7 times in 40 years of ownership
  22. This is dumb. We should want him on the Cubs and Reinsdorf should too. It’s a much better alternative than Houston. It’s just common sense
  23. I don’t think that Rick Hahn will be front office member to blame if this off-season goes as poorly as expected
  24. I'd be very surprised if Jose Abreu is on the White Sox in 2023
  25. Gone. There will be a new hitting coach.
