  1. In a scenario where Colas is sitting vs a LHP, you could play Eloy in RF and DH Burger. I’d never play Sheets over Vaughn, Eloy, Benintendi or Colas though so I’m not sure how he fits other than PH for RHH sometimes
  2. This is why Burger makes more sense on the roster than Sheets does though imo
  3. Zavala has the leg up because he’s out of options but Perez is definitely the third catcher.
  4. Disagree. Tony La Russa is gone
  5. Yeah Perez could’ve been on the list.
  6. Any thoughts haha?
  7. Jack Payton come on down!
  8. We start things off with the just missed list. Guys who discussed but ultimately missed the list. Check it out here: https://soxmachine.com/2023/02/just-missed-chicago-white-sox-prospects-just-outside-the-pre-season-2023-top-30/
  9. Can he post a 2 WAR season? It would be the first time since 2006 if so.
  10. It’s the only profile that Shirley hasn’t selected yet. Really good class though. If they went college bat, I’d hope for an up the middle profile for sure. McGonigle and Head should be in the mix on prep side. I really hope they don’t take prep pitching at 15 though. That’s the one thing I wouldn’t be thrilled with there.
  11. I don't agree with this. I'd be really surprised if he were actually suspended at this rate.
  12. White Sox are in a good spot at 15. Could be a spot for college pitching or one of the better prep bats due to the amount of college bats who look like top 10 players. It'll be tough to pass on Waldrep or Lowder
  13. Neither is a regular but they’re both fine out there. I’d rather use either guy out there than Leury Garcia. It’s probably Jake Marisnick though
  14. Romy and Colas can both play CF
  15. Yeah I don’t know how they’d be able to do that
  16. I doubt we hear much until MLB investigation is over. I’m expecting him to be in camp on Wednesday as Garfien alluded to on 670 earlier today.
  17. Well yeah I get that part. They don’t sign high dollar teenagers. It’s a broken record at this point. $500K or so for a close to the majors reliever with untapped upside is fine though as part of a signing class. Not a ton. There are guys who will be available but no idea who is any good.
  18. Lol man. Nobody knows if he’s any good or how much he’ll even cost
  19. It’s a big year for Vera. They’ll run him out as a starter but he could fast track in relief if it doesn’t work.
  20. Would you be fine losing Zavala for nothing to accommodate?
  21. I just think they don’t want to trade the prospects that people want. The system isn’t in great shape and we all know who the top 11 guys are. The payroll issue is on the front office for sure but there were so many moves influenced by La Russa. Ownership needed to spend like $225 million this year to throw money at the problem. It’s the only thing that made sense but Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t give a s%*# about that.
  22. A lot of it was related to Tony La Russa and injuries. I don’t think it’s a mediocre baseball team depending on health but we’ll see. They clearly didn’t do enough but it’s tough to upgrade the team without using money in their situation. That trade was horrible. I’d always heard that they needed the savings to pay the Luis Robert bonus. Mom and pop shop organization. How would you have suggested that he improve the roster? Spending $16 million on Benintendi and Clevinger is a decent use of resources in my opinion. If there’s a “change”, this is likely it and that wouldn’t constitute a change at all. It’s why I always laugh at the suggestion of just firing Rick Hahn. They don’t need to fire Rick Hahn. They need to completely clean house. As long as Ken Williams is employed, you aren’t a great GM to come work under him. And Jerry doesn’t want someone else at the top of the org because it would require somehow finding qualified replacements and then listening to them tell him how shitty is organization is run.
  23. I disagree. I just wouldn’t want Sanchez catching my pitching staff.
  24. Oh it’s definitely on them. They know who they work for.
