  1. This is fair I suppose. My biggest gripe is the assumption that they're done. There are lots of options available still.
  2. There's lots of conflicting information right now. I stand by what I wrote because I trust the people who told me a significant addition was likely coming. I've heard that Hahn/Haber may have misjudged this market. I've also heard that Jerry Reinsdorf didn't want a major expenditure pre-lockout. I'm not sure what's true at this point. THey've added a utility player and an 8th inning guy for like $13.5 million so far. They'll have a record high payroll. Michael Conforto is still a realistic option and there's no way second base is solved. THey'll add at least one starter too. They were priced out of the Scherzer and Semien markets. That's pretty obvious at this point. If they don't do very much, I'll be as critical as everyone else. For me though, it's imperative to wait until the off-season is over. I need to see what the 2022 team actually looks like. Sorry for disappointing you Ray.
  3. I don’t think the Sox would prefer 1/20. Giving up a 2nd rounder for that seems untenable.
  4. I think the process is bad. I think they're one of the best teams in the American League regardless though.
  5. I'm not really sure. I think they are in on Conforto. I've heard that Hahn/Haber misjudged the market and were blindsided a bit by all of the spending. I've always heard that Reinsdorf wanted to wait until after the lockout for anything significant. That would obviously be a mistake. I don't know what's true.
  6. Fair enough man. I need to just stay off the internet. I don't have time for angst-ridden White Sox fans with a division favorite. They need to make a few moves. It'll never be enough though.
  7. No idea. I don't think any trades are happening until after the lockout ends. Teams are focused on free agency. Executives can talk trade during the lockout.
  8. It's likely a trade. They were in on Eduardo Escobar and didn't choose that route. They have a plan for 2B. I don't know what it is. It doesn't involve Mendick and Romy Gonzalez though.
  9. Do people honestly think the Sox are going with Leury or Mendick/Romy at 2B? It's okay to be frustrated but lets not get ridiculous.
  10. They were rumored on Hendriks the entire offseason last year.
  11. Starling Marte is 33 years old. I think Conforto gets more than that.
  12. I doubt they’d give up the 14th pick to sign anyone honestly. He was traded in season. Never mind.
  13. Names I’ve heard mentioned in regards to Phillies talks with White Sox: Jean Segura obviously. Rafael Marchan, Moniak, Kingery and Jose Alverado. I’d be good with Segura, Alverado and Marchan. Moniak is pointless
  14. This year’s team, sure. He should be their 1B for the next decade though. Trading him would be very short-sighted
  15. I have no idea. Probably depends on Scott Boras. Trading Andrew Vaughn will be a mistake though and they shouldn't do it.
  16. I don't see any way that it's like Semien and Conforto. I think one is possible and then they figure out the rest. Payroll might be between $190 and $200 million honestly. I'm just not sure how it's not with one big addition. I'm as surprised as everyone else, trust me.
  17. This author has no idea what he's talking about
  18. Jason Bilous and Kade McClure seem like the most likely protection candidates to me. Bennett Sousa, Hunter Schryver and Carlos Perez possible as well. Luis Mieses and Lenyn Sosa are eligible but I doubt anyone would take them. Luke Shilling is very interesting. He's hurt so a team could theoretically take him and stash him.
  19. There's a lot of truth to this unfortunately. Many people of color with similar credentials to Jed Hoyer, Rick Hahn etc land jobs in much more lucrative fields than major league baseball.
  20. I don't think he's a prospect still. 1B only and doesn't hit for power.
  21. Yeah. If you want to argue for Colson Montgomery, I completely understand. I'd have Vera #1 right now though.
  22. They still consider batting average for hitters and saves for relievers so what's the difference......
