  1. Isn’t it at least possible that Ryan Fuller and David Keller believe that something can be unlocked with Vientos? He’s 25 with 4 more years of control. I heard from a White Sox beat writer today that the prospect returns offered for Robert are pretty underwhelming. Could explain why they’re rumored to be on post-hype big league types
  2. Right but Sosa doesn’t replicate Vientos’ 2024 in his very best dreams
  3. That can’t be true. Soxtalk told me otherwise
  4. I’m got covering for anyone. You seem a little hostile though today. Maybe take a walk?
  5. Probably nothing. They very clearly didn't hear the names they would've wanted to for 4 years of Robert though. Nobody expected him to crater like this. Injury risk sure but not sure. It's humorous to me though that people on this board and elsewhere (in hindsight) think that the team should've traded Robert immediately but also believe that they shouldn't have traded Cease when they did. Pick a fucking lane.
  6. I don't think an equivalent to the Nationals/Eaton trade would've close to enough. I think the Sox would've needed like 3 top 100 prospects plus upside top trade 4 years of Luis Robert. I remember pushing back at the time and saying nobody would pay what he's worth after a 5 WAR season. Should they have traded him? It's easy to say yes now. I don't operate that way. We don't agree on this. I'm fine with that.
  7. I've been articulating why for months. You can't even tell me what you think they should've gotten in return that winter.
  8. We just don't agree. I'll drop it because I'll never agree with the alternate thought process. Chris Getz has done some things wrong. Not trading Luis Robert in the winter of 2023 just wasn't one of them.
  9. Agreed on this. I think you're too fixated on the reason why Getz was hired. He was hired because Reinsdorf is cheap and couldn't be bothered to go outside the organization. I'm guessing they just thought they could trade him for similar value later. That obviously looks like a mistake now but if they traded him after 2023, the deal wouldn't have been that great then either. You don't think Getz should've cared about that. I think that's fantasy land.
  10. It wasn’t about maximizing his value. Nobody was going to pay the price that 4 years of Robert should cost. I thought 3-3.5 years would’ve brought back a similar return. That was incorrect. I would’ve needed like 3 top 100 prospects to move 4 years of Robert. I doubt that was on the table. I mean it was 4 years of control on Robert and 2 years on Soto. Two completely different situations.
  11. I wouldn’t trade Tauchman unless the return is pretty solid.
  12. He wasn’t going to get value for Luis Robert at that time. It made much more sense to keep him into the season. They got burned. It happens unfortunately.
  13. Yeah I understand this in hindsight. I don’t actually believe that they should’ve traded him in the real world after 2023 though. I can’t get there.
  14. What would you have needed in return for him coming off his 2023 season?
  15. I just don’t agree with this. In hindsight, absolutely. Trading 4 years of Robert coming off that season would’ve been tough to do imo. I just don’t think this player exists at this deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if they take pitching in return. They need to take the best talent offered.
  16. I hope it is Vientos. The dude was legit good in 2024 and mashed in the actual playoffs. I think it's a better return than what they ultimately could end up with unfortunately. The Sox need power.
  17. I like Vientos. Great project for Fuller to take on. Sox need power.
  18. For those interested, I wrote 4,000 words on the White Sox draft for FutureSox. Here you go: https://www.futuresox.net/2025/07/26/white-sox-prioritize-bats-in-2025-mlb/
  19. White Sox will have the lowest payroll in baseball for 2026 once they trade Robert. It’s literally Benintendi and arb and pre arb players.
  20. Nope. Jeremy Haber got fired so info is pretty dried up.
  21. He's signed. It's just not announced. Guessing it's $900K
  22. Yes. With the 5% overage, they have $12,777,555 to spend and they've spent $11,844,600.
  23. Sox have $932K remaining with just Kyle Lodise left to sign. Sox staff really believes in his ability to hit and all his batted ball data.
