Honestly, not really. We miss on Harper & Machado then we’re paying for B tier or declining A tier free agents.

What do you mean “none of it’s prospects playing”? There will be plenty of talent on this roster by the end of the season. We obviously won’t be as ready to win as the Yankees, Cubs, or Dodgers but I don’t we’ll be viewed nearly as negatively as you’re making it out to be.

I guess we’ll see, I think the organization realizes the need for a legit superstar signing to signal the rebuild is over and add some excitement to the franchise prior to TV contract negotiations. If we don’t land Machado, I honestly don’t expect money to be the primary issue.

Anderson + Cease + anything else is absolutely ridiculous for three months of Machado. No way they get close to that much IMO. Also, Engel is one frustrating player.

I hope you are right, he’s always had pretty good control and now he’s walking like crazy it seems.

I’m guessing because his command isn’t there he’s more focused on hitting the catcher’s mitt and not holding runners similar to Giolito the other day.

I wonder if/when they call up Vieira & Hamilton. Those two (and eventually Burdi) could really be game changers. Here are Vieira’s stats over his last 10 games: 12.2 IP, 2.13 ERA, 8 H, 0 HR, 22 K, 10 BB Still a bit wild, but clearly effective with a rediculous 15/9 K rate. Hamilton meanwhile has been stellar all year with the following stats: 15 IP, 1.20 ERA, 8 H, 0 HR, 22 K, 7 BB, 1.81 FIP Can’t wait for these two to join the big league club!

IMO, 3B would be a waste of Moncada’s range. I’m sure he’d be fine over there, but I think he can be an elite defensive 2B.
