  1. Just let us know what we can do to make your SoxTalk experience more enjoyable for you Joe. Would hate for you to have to skip two or three posts in this giant 20 post thread. And obviously pointing out significant flaws with Collins’ game that several of us have witnessed by actually watching him play this year must constitute as b****ing. Don’t worry Joe, no one will share feedback like this anymore to avoid any further HoT fIrE rips from yourself.
  2. Am I crazy or is Fulmer our 2nd best starter right now? Lopez > Fulmer > Shields > Giolito > MiGo
  3. Remember when Chris Beck was a top 10 prospect, good god those were some dark days.
  4. We can only hope. So far your Tatis obsession has definitely been a quality jinx this year.
  5. Did that one fan who missed the catch get hit in the balls?
  6. I’m not giving up on Collins yet, but he has to change his approach at the plate and be more aggressive. Zavala has really impressed me though with the bat. Seems like he has a solid chance of being a good major league hitter. His path will obviously be much easier if he can stick at catcher.
  7. The frustrating part to me is I just don’t see how anyone could see him being able to hit enough to be an everyday regular. He’s a far better defensive player than he’s shown (ignoring the noodle arm), but the bat is always going to be a compete joke.
  8. Engel is two hitless/walkless at-bats away from his OPS dropping below .400. That still may be nearly double Jacob May’s OPS with us last year, but seems like he should suffer the same fate if Trayce shows any amount of ability.
  9. Don’t worry about the HR Carson, just get the next guy out.
  10. But fuck all those extra base hits, walks, stolen bases, and awesome defense, dude will be out of baseball if he doesn’t get that K rate under 30%.
  11. And Collins is most definitely broken. I get the BB rate is nice and all, but not when it comes at the expense of making contact and putting good swings on the ball. His approach at the plate is terrible right now and it’s showing.
  12. Glad to see he’s already back in form.
  13. His FIP is 4.20 despite the absurd BB rate. That puts him right around 60th overall for starters. So while he’s been lucky, he’s also been fairy good and has flashed legit TOR stuff. I fully expect Lopez to improve his command over the coming months and that should help mitigate some of the ERA regression that is likely coming.
  14. Call me crazy, but I’ll happily take Fulmer and his warts over MiGo any day of the week.
  15. I don’t think you can get worse than a broken-down MiGo. Dude couldn’t even hit 90 MPH last start. Something definitely seemed wrong.
  16. I don’t think Fulmer’s struggles change any of the calculus. Ultimately we need to convert three of Kopech, Lopez, Giolito, Hansen, Dunning, & Cease into top of the rotation starters. Rodon will be in the mix for a while as well. We can always sign a veteran mid-rotation starter if needed to backup. And if we can’t develop a #5 starter between the guys I listed and all our other pitching depth, then we have larger problems at play. Therefore, definitely take BPA at #4 so unless Mize suddenly falls, that player should hopefully be a position player.
