Lambert is currently 15th in all of the minors in strikeouts. When does this kid go from being just another arm in the system to a legit prospect that we should all be excited about? With a new arsenal of pitches along with improved velocity, there is reason to believe this version of Lambert is not the same old pitcher and one that warrants far more attention.

The problem is it’s hard to imagine the reaction Moncada had was due to an errant pickoff throw hitting him in the knee. Obviously that turned out to be the case, but at first glance it mostly seemed like knee to knee contact.

I can’t believe Paulo Orlando & Jose Martinez are major leaguers while all our top OF prospects from that time period completely flopped.

If his knee blew out I doubt they’d let him walk off the field even with support.

Fantastic deal. Other than preventing us from absorbing a bad contract for picks/Felicio, this deal has no impact on our free agency plans the next two offseasons. And while I was still in favor of tanking, that simply wasn’t going to happen year under GarPax.

100% agree. We also have young assets at the major league level that have declining control, which must be taken into consideration as well.

We also have practically zero dollars in long-term payroll commitments, so losing several months of development to save some money years from now seems a very poor decision IMO.
