Jimenez just ripped a double off the RF wall and got tagged trying to extend it into a triple. Hopefully he’s not hurt as he slowed down at the end and did not slide.

He’s definitely got confidence. Check that Hostetler interview that Y2Jimmy posted. Sounds like the kid never doubted himself once despite his slow start to 2018. That’s a huge character trait to have if you want to make it in the majors because there will always be extended periods of failure to overcome.

I don’t see a need to rush Micker. Let Basabe get a shot at AA, he’s almost played 160 games at High A.

My boy Lopez gonna restore some lost faith today. I’m predicting he goes six scoreless innings with 10 K’s and less than 3 BB’s.

When people use the term “sneaky athleticism” that’s usually a clear sign you’re not in great shape.

I don’t think they can at this point. I’d bump him up to AAA at the end of May and then call him up to the majors if he has a solid June. We’d get a good three months of him with the Sox which is about as good as we can do.

Jimenez & Zavala both just missed HRs and Eloy’s was absolutely ripped to straight away center.

I mean, that’s definitely a possibility. I’m still operating under the assumption Matt Davidson might somehow be a major league caliber DH, which would take away that option.

This kid is having a tremendous season. I know he’s slightly old for the level, but it’s hard to ignore his numbers. With his defensive abilities, he’s a sure fire major leaguer at some point. He could be a fantastic reserve behind Moncada & Anderson a year from now.

Zavala seems to be a legit offensive player. Him, Collins, & Jimenez should all be ready for the majors in the next 12 months. That’s going to add a lot of offense to the lineup. Will be interesting to see how they make Zavala fit though. If he’s for real, you can’t just use him as your backup catcher. I wonder if he could still play some OF when Collins is behind the dish.

Lip, thank you for bringing up the comments for that Tigers series. That was the first moment he really quit on the team and that shit is unforgivable. Not to get political, but it’s amazing to see the parallels between Ozzie & Trump supporters. First, ignore all the horrible things the person in question has said & done even if they go against everything you stand for. Second, find a scapegoat that you can make pathetically weak arguements for why they’re worse or at the very least guilty of the same things. Third, go on a message board and make your argument loud, proud & relentless to ensure everyone knows just how hypocritical & full of shit you really are.

Forbes has definitely been a pleasant surprise. Still can dream on him a bit, even if it’s a huge long-shot.

I know this won’t be a popular opinion, but I’d send Giolito down to AAA for a few weeks. He’s a very cerebral guy and I feel like he’d benefit greatly from pitching without the pressures of facing major league hitters. Let him clear his mind, focus on his mechanics, and come back up at the start of June and hope for the best.

Coming into the season it was one of Stephens, Adams, & Guerrero. A lot of people were optimistic about Clarkin and Flores had his fans too. Having said that, Lambert, McClure, & Henzman have been the most impressive this year in that next tier, but I’d give it to Jimmy out of those three given he’s a level above the other two. Don’t know much about the stuff, but NorthSide did say his velocity jumped up a few ticks which makes me wonder if he really might be someone to follow going forward.

Another fantastic start for Lambert. 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 HR, 7 K, 1 BB, 63/95 strikes. Stats wise the kid is making a strong case to be the next best pitching prospect after the big four in Kopech, Hansen, Dunning, & Cease.

Better not be Rutherford. I’m happy with his performance so far, but he’s not showing the power or plate discipline to earn a promotion anytime soon IMO.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read the recovery process would be about 8 months.

Adolfo is just a completely different hitter this year. Had an excellent 10 pitch at-bat where he started off 0-2 and was able to work a walk. He’s simply way more selective this year and that goes well beyond his career BB high rate this year. This kid has a chance to be a poor man’s Eloy if all goes well IMO.
