  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 02:45 PM) The White Sox have a rather long lease and make money every season. There are several other teams that cannot say the same thing. Every 6 months we get the Sox moving posts. They aren't leaving. Put it to rest. It's crazy this keeps coming up. Maybe when the lease is up it will be a different story, but even then I don't see MLB allowing an original AL team in a major market with solid revenue to move. But that's a long time from now, so no need to speculate.
  2. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) The White Sox have no intention of signing anybody who adds to their payroll. The main objective for the organization is to have one of the lowest if not lowest payrolls entering the 2018 season. I figure their payroll next season (2018) will be around $50 million dollars. Forbes magazine said that the White Sox franchise gross about $250 million dollars. 2018 will be a very profitable year for JR even though it will be a disaster on the field. Good god dude, it's called a rebuild. They aren't trying to be cheap, there's simply no reason to waste money on a player who is unlikely to bring anything back meaningful come the trade deadline.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 03:03 PM) There are so many different ways to solve puzzles, and the open world let's you just do things whatever way you want. I really like the side quest adventure log, I'm gonna try as hard as I can to 100% the game. As part of my bundle I got the strategy guide, and it is a beast, 353 pages Is there place within the game where you can see your overall progress? I would love to 100% this game, but I'm a little worried that after 20 hours I'm only like 5% complete.
  4. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 06:21 AM) Just played it last night on WiiU, love it and didn't want to stop lol. I immediately changed the x and b buttons, still a little getting used to since i don't usually use the wii u gamepad but overall the game is beautiful. Also i hate roaming at night, i just sit by the fire and wait it out. I've probably put in close to 15 hours before really starting the main missions (except for the Great Plateau stuff). The world is just so cool & interesting that I've just kept going off in my own direction. And the crazy part is I've only explored 25% of the map, this world is f***ing gigantic and not in a overly intimidating way. Also, for any fathers with young children on this board, I can't recommend the Switch enough. I literally got my Switch days before having twins and this thing has been a life saver. My ability to play PS4 or any home console for that matter is very limited due to work & parenting responsibilities. But when my 3 year old son is watching Trolls or Secret Life of Pets for the millionth time, I can get in an hour or two in of a legit 3D Zelda game. I can't express enough how f***ing awesome that is.
  5. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 11:13 AM) Seems miller was low balling them. The calculated risk Is that a short term deal may net them a bigger deal down the line. AND they have an opportunity to grow the Latin fan base at the same time. I know craft drinkers are happy with this as more taps will be formloxal and regional brands. The problem is the vast majority of fans still prefer a standard light beer. Glad they're expanding the craft beer selection and I'll dabble here and there, but my go to has always been Miller Lite at a Sox game. I've been drinking four or five a game for the last 12 years or so. For me, this change sucks balls because Bud Light is f***ing disgusting. And based on it's popularity in Chicago, most Sox fans probably agree. I think the common Sox fan will not be happy about this.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 09:34 PM) Black Unicorn to Green Bay. No doubt that he is gonna kill it up there. Minimum 250 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 2 games vs the Bears The Packers get Martellus for basically the same contract we gave Sims. I get that we would never bring back Bennett, but that just shows you how ridiculous the Sims contract really is.
  7. Well this thread officially jinxed his no-hitter...
  8. Quintana will be pitching in the WBC very shortly for those interested. Hopefully a lot of teams will be scouting.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) I'm afraid the buyer would move the team. Zero chance of that happening. What city is more attractive than Chicago? And there are other franchises that MLB would look to relocate than an original AL team that is middle of the pack in terms of revenue. Just isn't happening, not anytime soon at least.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) I can assure you that as of a few years ago, Lip's info is incorrect. Michael Reinsdorf wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps with the White Sox. And if JR did die, he would be running things until he didn't want to. Maybe he will think his plate is full with the Bulls. I do know he would have at least slightly different approach if he ran the White Sox. Different approach from his father or different approach from how he runs the Bulls? Would you mind elaborating?
  11. I love Modelo, but absolutely hate Bud Light. The loss of revenue really makes this suck though.
  12. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) JR will not sell while he is still alive because of the tax hit (which would be very large) on his family. He started as a tax guy, he knows the laws better than anyone. And it has been reported many times by many sources (including JR himself to Bob Sirott on Chicago Tonight) that his children are not interested in running the Sox and he has advised them against doing so. Mark Thank the love of god. I don't want Reinsdorf's kids anywhere near this team after seeing how Michael operates the Bulls.
  13. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) I am really thinking that Hahn has in his mind that IF he can somehow hit pretty big with other trades Frazier/Robertson/Surprise player that he can potentially have enough to keep Q for the long term. I don't think he his absolutely certain that Q isnt going to be a part of the future. If they can trade Q now for a haul will obviously accelerate the rebuild, of course, but we just barely started the process and not much has played out compared to what actually will. I really hope Hahn doesn't think that way. One or two seasons of Quintana when/if our team is finally competitive is not worth the prospect haul he could land right now IMO.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) https://mobile.twitter.com/rapsheet/status/...989969859031040 Bears to sign Markus Wheaton, former Steelers WR. Wow, of all the WRs in free agency they sign Markus f***ing Wheaton. Good god has this day been a dissapointment. If I didn't know any better, I'd honestl think Pace is purposely trying to tank next year for Darnold. Despite coming off a 3-13 season and having $70M in cap space, we have somehow gotten worse after day one of free agency. That's impressive.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 05:57 PM) Kyle Long, Matt Forte, Kellen Davis and Earl Bennett. Which is funny because Kellen Davis is one of the worst football players I've ever seen. Thank you and wow. The fact that Kellen Davis represents 1/4 of that list both sad & hilarious at the same time.
  16. Absolutely pathetic... I'm too lazy to look this up, but would love to hear if anyone knows who the four players are. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Kyle Long.
  17. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) Alshon heading to Eagles according to Brad Biggs For 1 year 14mil WOW I'm literally speechless. What the f*** is Pace doing?
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Kevin White should be back for 2 or 3 games. But seriously, who would be our #2 WR in the event White gets injured again? I just don't why you'd spend the money to get Glennon only to the lose your one legit receiver. I have no idea what Pace is doing here. He seems so obsessed with getting value that he's afraid to pay the going rate for impact talent.
  19. Who cares if we lose Jeffery now that we're adding Dion Sims. Glennon is gonna be loaded with weapons.
  20. Glad to keep seeing Delmonico keep getting some opportunities. Hopefully he can open some eyes this camp.
  21. Great, great article! Very impressive how well Jimmy was able to summarize a pretty complex situation. Well done!
  22. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 08:38 PM) Right, it wasn't trying to be a shooter, but it adopted FPS mechanics for its action gameplay, and that gameplay was total garbage. I think the "classic metroidvania formula" expired in the SNES era. Pretty sure you're in the vast minority here. The game has a 97 on metracritic and is universally praised by the gaming community. And the classic metroidvania formula is still incredibly popular even today. Might be mostly indie games, but there are plenty of releases each year and they are all well regarded I might add). Definitely not a dying genre in the least.
  23. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 04:44 PM) I enjoyed Smash, Double Dash, and RE4 a lot. Super Monkey Ball 2 as well. Disliked both Zeldas, Mario Sunshine, and F Zero. As an avid FPS player, I find the praise that Metroid Prime gets mind-boggling. How can we combine the traditionally horrible controls of a shooter on a console with a dull story, sparse action, and large amounts of walking around/back-tracking? I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here. While I'll fully admit Mario Sunshine was a letdown from 64, I really liked all the other games you disliked. Both Zelda games are great IMO, even if they aren't quite Ocarina of Time. F Zero GX is probably best racer I've ever played. And Metroid Prime wasn't trying to be a FPS, it's simply a 3D attempt at the classic metroidvania formula and Retro Studios completely pulled it off.
  24. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 01:37 PM) Personally, I'll never buy a Nintendo console again. I was a little disappointed by GameCube, but felt completely ripped off by the Wii. What a piece of trash. The GameCube was absolutely incredible. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Mario Sunshine, Metriod Prime 1 & 2, Double Dash, Smash: Melee, MGS: Twin Snake, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil Remake & 4, Pikman 1 & 2, Rogue Squadron 2, F Zero GX, the list goes on and on. The GameCube was awesome because Nintendo was still trying to compete with the competition at that time and had a very diverse library of games including a decent amount of mature titles.
