I think we’re at the point we desperately need bats and more pitching has a much lower marginal value. And yes, you can never have enough pitching theoretically, but we’re also rocking an all-time bad offense with a mostly barren farm system.

We’re a week away. I feel like we see the first few moves this weekend before the normal onslaught begins the last day or two. Will be interesting to see if Getz tries to get some stuff done early so he can focus a smaller set of moves right before the deadline.

I guess the theory would be these guys would have gone before our picks had we not overslotted them (not sure if true). What’s weird though is Saucke got more than McLain a pick later, so if you like Saucke more why not take him in the 3rd and try to push McLain down a round?

Vaughn is a 10% below league average hitter who plays a bad 1B. I pray for the team he’s an upgrade for.

Schultz, Smith, & Taylor could / should be and Thorpe looks like he might be a legit #3 starter. And there are loads of guys who have MOR / BOR potential. It’s 100% the offense that I’m worried about at the moment.

The 44% K rate for the offense tonight is certainly impressive

I think he’s packaged with one of the big three most likely, but I think people are underrating him. Since Jun 1st, he’s got a 2.70 ERA / 1.40 FIP with 13.5 K’s per nine and a 7.5 K:B ratio. Again, I have never actually seen him pitch well, but apparently he has based on those numbers and teams are desperate for relief pitchers this time of year.

He will 100% be traded and actually return something of value. He’s really damn good for the last month and a half, although it does feel like he sucks every night.

If this is Fedde’s last start with us, it’s been a joy to watch him pitch in this mostly shitshow of a season. Also, Kopech better strand that runner so Getz can try selling Fedde as a sub 3.00 ERA pitcher.

I don’t think signing the picks will take much time from GMs. I’m guessing right now is the normal slow dance of buyers and sellers both exchanging ridiculous proposals while looking for someone to pull a Perry Minasian and jump the market in an overly aggressive way.
