  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) Still no Saladino. Hasn't played in a week. I guess he can't fit him amidst his .220 veterans. Go get 'em Ventura! If I was Robin, I'd be trying to use Saladino like a poor man's Zobrist. Play him across the infield and give him the occasional start in the outfield. He doesn't need to play everyday, but 3-4 starts a week shouldn't be a problem, especially with our current bench.
  2. Ventura has to be fired after this weekend's sweep. Give Renteria a shot and if nothing changes accountability quickly shifts to the front office.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) Shuck us a good defense not hit guy. I kind of wish the Sox could get Jay Bruce I'm not seeing Shuck as a "good defense" guy. He seems below average to me out there.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) I,doubt that would have changed anything. They need a better line up. If they are serious about winning, they need to get more aSap. 100% agree. Can't keep trotting Avi & Shuck out there everyday and expect a good offense.
  5. Maybe a coach should finally tell Melky that sliding into first base is stupid.
  6. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) Oh cool. We even get a "winning sucks too!" post. WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?!?! Lol...GTFO with this s***. You are one of the most hated posters on this site because all you do is whine and b**** and ruin every single game thread that you "contribute" in. Please don't be giving the rest of us posting etiquette advice. And just for the record, I want the Sox to win regardless of what happens to Robin. I just know with the way things are going this year, if it's a game where Robin's ass is on the line the Sox will find a way to pull off the victory.
  7. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) This game has a 3-2 loss all over it. They're going to win today. Robin's job likely depends on winning this game and the baseball gods seem to want to f*** us hard this season so it just makes too much sense.
  8. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 01:56 PM) Carasco for some reason wants nothing to do with Frazier Have you seen the four hitters batting behind him? I'd walk Frazier and deal with those clowns every time if no one is on base.
  9. Got to love having Alex Avila batting 6th. What a f***ing joke of an offense.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) The players support Ventura and canning hiom might really cause a decline. Lol...you must be following a different team, because they literally couldn't be playing any worse.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) They have too many good pieces to blow it up. Doesn't matter if Reinsdorf won't commit the resources to build around those players. We 100% half-assed it this offseason. They had a ton of holes and they dumpster dived to fill them despite multiple impact players being available at positions of need and it being a buyers' market. I can't even blame Hahn for this f***-up, because it's clear that ownership told the front office to try and win and didn't give them a budget to pull it off. What I don't get is your need to defend all things ownership, front office, & coaching staff (except for Don Cooper). We are in the midst of a very long playoff drought despite "going for it" multiple times. Time and time again the team performs below expectations and yet you only want to hold the players accountable. It's incredibly frustrating that a poster as knowledgable as yourself refuses to see the truth. This organization completely sucks right now outside of a small core of players and the magic of Herm Schneider. How can you honestly feel we have too many good pieces to blow it up? How do you suggest we fix this mess?
  12. Honestly, it's probably time. I've tried convincing myself this team can compete, but the reality is there are far too many holes on this roster. Frazier, Cabrera, & Robertson should be moved before the deadline. If Lawrie has any value left, move him as well. Come this offseason, put Sale, Quintana, Abreu, & Eaton on the trade market and move the any and all of them as long as the offers are strong. I hate the idea of rebuilding, but I hate the idea of wasting the prime years of our key assets and ending up with nothing to show for them even more. This organization is in desperate need of a fresh start from top to bottom and hopefully we start seeing some changes soon.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 06:10 AM) Wouldn't have Curbelo quite so high until he's at least proven something in SS ball. What is the argument for dropping May so far? A lot of preseason lists had him 4th-6th, right? Jordan Stephens and Delmonico would be getting some strong consideration for the last two spots. Stephens is the guy I forgot. He could definitely crack the top 10 by the end of the year.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 11:57 PM) Half Measures. It's what they do. Try to strike lightning in a bottle. I'm not one of these people that wants to sell everything but they should probably raise the payroll by $40 million or rebuild. Can't keep going halfway. The only way they're going to strike lighting in a bottle is if they go out and add an impact hitter ASAP and then hope that when Morneau is ready he can be a capable DH. Say we add CarGo, here's how our lineup could look like: 1. Anderson, SS 2. Eaton, CF 3. Abreu, 1B 4. CarGo, RF 5. Frazier, 3B 6. Cabrera, LF 7. Lawrie, 2B 8. Morneau, DH 9. Avila, C Austin Jackson could be our 4th OF and allow us to shift Eaton to RF against LHP. Might allow us to go with a Leury Garcia type over Shuck to add some speed/versatility to the bench. And honestly, maybe it's time they have consider firing Steverson. Lawrie's K rate is 50% worse than his career average. Frazier is sporting a horrifically low BABIP but that corresponds with a significant decrease in his line drive rate. I haven't seen much in terms of changes for either player. These were our key two offensive additions this offseason and they are underperforming. Maybe it's worst seeing if a new voice creates a spark. I'm not one to think a hitting coach has a huge impact, but I do believe new perspectives occasionally help. Worth a shot in trying to save this season IMO.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) 1. Zack Collins C 2. Carson Fulmer RHP 3. Spencer Adams RHP 4. Zach Burdi RHP 5. Alec Hansen RHP 6. Adam Engel CF 7. Trey Michalczewski 3B 8. Jordan Guerrero LHP 9. Tyler Danish RHP 10. MIcker Adolfo OF This is basically my list but with Delmonico over Adolfo. That could change over the course of the season, but Adolfo doesn't deserve a top 10 spot right now IMO. I think May, Peter, Sevela, & Cruz could all make a case for those last two spots as well depending how their second halves go.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 05:54 AM) Do it LeBron.. I don't like Cleveland at all, but that city deserves a title. I don't hate that city like I do Detroit. I hate everything about Detroit. You must not know many people from Cleveland. They are a disgusting breed of people and they deserve no such happiness. Go Warriors!
  17. Where was Hickman ranked as a prospect? Surprised if he got more than $200k to $250k, which would only be a $100k to $150k charge against our cap. Also, can't we go over our pool amount by like 5% and not lose any picks? That should be worth $470k or so. Throw in the savings we've accumulated already and I don't see what the problem is. Might even be able to sign one of those late high school picks.
  18. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Boom sucka Hey, I'm more than happy if he wants to make me look like an asshole by helping us win!
  19. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Not sure what you expect from a 25th man. If they were any good they wouldn't be a 25th man. I expect at least one value adding skill that can be used situationally to help the team win games.
